When I was watching Bones, 4x21 Mayhem on a Cross, I realized something.
Tragic backstory? Totally one of my bulletproof kinks. To give context, I kinda hate Sweets, and even after he's grown on me a little bit, I hate that he's in the credits. Mom actually makes me skip the part of the credits he's in. Yet in this episode, I actually liked him! I know it was on the strength of those scars and his traumatic past. And that ending scene with Booth and Bones and Sweets, where Brennan goes, "My foster parents locked me in the trunk of a car for two days when I broke a dish. I was a very clumsy child."
Just... the line delivery. And all the wealth of information in her being clumsy. Oh, Brennan.
And then if that wasn't enough angst-porn, we have Booth talking about being suicidal in his terse, tense way, to put the icing on the cake.
*guh*
And the way Booth was so concerned about Brennan? *wibble*
So basically, even as this episode reaffirmed that Gordon>Sweets to infinity (regardless of how shockingly unprofessional it was to tell Brennan and Booth the things he did about Sweets), it actually made me really like Sweets at the same time.
And to totally switch gears,
Shipuuden 114: what the hell? wrong way to try to give Orocihimaru humanity, using Newaki, considering what he says to Tsunade right after the anime cuts away, which was basically 'LET ME JUST TWIST THE KNIFE, M'KAY BY REMINDING YOU OF THE FACT THAT HE NEWAKI DIED ON HIS BIRTHDAY.'
ANKO! She looks like such a tomboy, which totally fits. Damn, this has just been the week of 'giving attention to Naruto characters redbrunja loves.'
Wow, Itachi was a hot little elite baby-ninja, wasn't he? /feels like a total pedo. But not as much a pedo as Orochimaru and his tongue.
Still, Anko and Itachi in the same episode? As close to canon as it gets ^_^
The Transfer Jutsu is really gross, I just have to say.
Who's hand is that on Kabuto's table?
Okay, this episode? Worth it for the thirty seconds of Anko badassery at the end.
