Cause Bitchy Never Goes Out Of Style

Gacked from [info]carrielh:

Name any character and I'll tell you three (or more) reasons why s/he sucks.

And also, in the theme here's some awesome buffy quotage:

Cordelia: Buffy. You're really campaigning for bitch-of-the-year, aren't you?
Buffy: As defending champion, ya nervous?
Cordelia: I can hold my own.

I'll go easy -- Goldilocks.

1.) She has good goals (defeating the adversary and having equal rights in Fabletown) but shots them in the foot by the way she goes about gaining them.

2.a) She hides her sexual perversions behind her ideals.
2.b)Her ideas seem to spring from said sexual perversions.

3.) She tries to kill Snow three times - I still kinda don't think she suffered enough.

And doesn't think them through. She wants the animals to run free, but ignores the fact that even humans have to pass for mundy -- changing their ID every twenty years, Rapunzel not being allowed to stay in one place long enough for them to notice her hair growing -- which means they'd have to pass for mundy animals if they had equal rights. Which means no talking around humans, and in the vast majority of cases, much worse conditions than they had at the farm. The birds might do well, and the big cats might be able to visit a jungle, but it wouldn't come easily.

Oh, and in Jack of Fables, it turns out that after she fell in the river? She spent the next few months slowly being eaten by fish, healing at a slower rate than they were eating, always drowning but not being able to die.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-23 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's really no good solution for the talking animals - admittadly, I think the community as a whole needs to work of providing a way for them to get out a little more, so they're not prisioners in upstate new york, but just revolt? Isn't going to do anything except get people killed so things can contiue as they have been.

...okay, maybe Goldilocks did suffer enough.

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-23 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe have open debates between the Farm and Fabletown's government. The demands would be met with the precise logistical reasons that they specifically couldn't happen, and with a bit of compromise on both sides (that wouldn't compromise Fabletown's integrity as a whole), they could work something out. But not until the Farm Fables have finished doing penance for the whole shitfest -- rebels do not merit a reward, at least not this soon. If glamours are transferrable, maybe have a few available to be used by the animals that want to get out. There'd be a waiting list and tests to ensure they'd be able to pass for a mundy human, after which they'd get to go out for a month or so and do whatever they like. Or maybe let the trolls and such run around free as they please in regions known for yeti sightings; that wouldn't draw particular attention to Fabletown. Maybe a second 'Farm' somewhere, keeping the same rules but allowing for a change of scenery.

Yeah. But now she wants revenge on Snow for making her go through that. So while suffering has balanced out, she still needs to die. But now it can be quick without being unsatisfying.

Yeah, all of those sound like very good options. If Charming had any brains, he'd be doing that to try and regain some support. And a second Farm sounds like a very good idea.

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-26 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he's rather distracted at the moment. And he isn't especially good with mundane details like this; he can do big, dramatic gestures, but he's not that great at gladhanding or keeping the population content. Note the large number of protesters he has.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that fact that Charming campainged for months on something he never asked the people who did the magic whether or not they could deliver...

Nope, Charming did not impress me with his brains ast all.

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. And then he acted as if Boy Blue's entire mission had been his idea, despite the fact that it seemed pretty clear Blue'd been planning it since shortly after he began training with the Witching Cloak and Vorpal Sword. Some people think he's competent, but it's more that he sometimes figures out that competent people should be sent to do things and let them do their work.

Also: Icon!

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and then he wouldn't even stand by Boy Blue and support him - thank god Blue choose hard labor.

Some people think he's competent, but it's more that he sometimes figures out that competent people should be sent to do things and let them do their work.

Hee! Yes, that's it exactly.

And thank you! I really love the image of that wolf, and the red of her dress with the line of her arm. Very powerful. (imho)

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
He could have completely salvaged the situation by telling the jury that decided on the sentance that Boy Blue had been acting on his orders, on a secret mission. The outcome was positive, it was only the fact that Boy Blue acted without authorization that got him in trouble.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-27 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep.

The outcome was positive

Although didn't Pinoccho end up staying behind to be with Gepetto?

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
True, but Blue arranged for Pinnochio to be healed -- he was effectively dead before -- found out who the Adversary was, caused a bunch of trouble for the Empire, and rescued the real Red Riding Hood. That's a pretty good success rate.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say so. But then, I'm not a dick.

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Which reminds me (in a highly tangental fashion) -- do you still want me to send #48-50 of Fables and Xxxenophile? I'm currently in a highspeed wireless zone, so it's of the good.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Tangants are lovely.

I'm pretty sure I was able to download the rest of Fables. But I would love it if you'd upload Xxxenophile. Thanks a million!

[identity profile] fairest1.livejournal.com 2007-05-29 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Right here! (http://www.sendspace.com/file/i2fv01) The stories tend to be hit-and-miss for me, but there's some great ones in there.

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2007-05-30 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks a million! I'll let you know what I think as soon as I get a chance to read these.
