Yeah, and then he wouldn't even stand by Boy Blue and support him - thank god Blue choose hard labor.

Some people think he's competent, but it's more that he sometimes figures out that competent people should be sent to do things and let them do their work.

He could have completely salvaged the situation by telling the jury that decided on the sentance that Boy Blue had been acting on his orders, on a secret mission. The outcome was positive, it was only the fact that Boy Blue acted without authorization that got him in trouble.

True, but Blue arranged for Pinnochio to be healed -- he was effectively dead before -- found out who the Adversary was, caused a bunch of trouble for the Empire, and rescued the real Red Riding Hood. That's a pretty good success rate.
