So, my mother, grandmother, and aunts went to a Korean spa today.

And it was splendorous.

I got to spend a hour soaking in pools of various temperatures, as well as a sauna and a steam room, before I went back and had this woman named Eve scrub all the dead skin off my body. (It was actually kind of appalling to see how much gunk she managed to get off my body.)

Then we got to hang out in all these various rooms. There were warm reading rooms, and hot rooms, and the sand room which had sand under cloth and the sound of waves, and a salt room with salt under fabric that you got to lie on, and out in the lobby there was a foot massager.

I got to read for, like, an hour straight. It was glorious (as was my book, For A Few Demons More. Rock on Kim Harrison! Thank you for doing dark, violent urban fantasy with a strong dose of romance right!)

And, yeah, okay, I'm not the most earth-goddess ya-ya chick, but I loved the atmosphere. All the women there were different shapes and sizes and we were all utterly naked (for most of it) and it was totally fine. It was like, yeah, I'm naked over here, no big deal. But it was cool to be in that space - very relaxing.

Bliss. Today was wonderful and relaxing and now my skin is all soft and smooth and doesn't have dead cells on top.

And I should really have a relaxation or luxury or bliss icon. Oh well, I guess I'll have to use Goyjo.

Well, I can understand that. I enjoyed the sauna, but it wasn't as good as the steam room.

At one point, me and mom where the only people in it, so we were yodalling and having fun with the acustics.
