Judging my her mother... her mother could buy her a radiation suit for every day of the week and had a little moisture in her eye that her baby girl is growing up.
Hannalore is fascinating in most of the comic - easily the most neurotic of the batch. (OMG - the panty-shot strip was hilarious)
Unlike many others, I'm not anti-Sven. Sure he's an ass, and even a user, but he's always been upfront about it from the outset, even with Faye. That she took his infidelity badly was equal parts his and *her* fault, for creating expectations that she didn't share with him.
This could end up being an interesting debate, but I'm not about to launch into a topic that annoys you. Suffice to say that Faye lost a margin of my respect when she called him up to keep her company, and settled for sex, instead.
But even more, the two of them are remarkably alike in their self-deceptive methods of avoiding true intimacy.
You'd think so! But of course the problem is that she wants intimacy, but is equally afraid of it. So she asks Sven for the type of time she used to get from Martin (hang out/fun) and is offended when he doesn't respond similarly.
You know what Faye -- you turned Martin *down*, and you did so because it's easier/safer to control a "nice guy". She acts like she needs someone who's a bit of a jerk to push her out of her safety zone... I don't think she's capable of it on her own. (And yes I have friends who have done this in RL.)
As for Sven, I'd think that he was more of a jerk *except* that he was up front about his expectations. Also, the affair with Gina wasn't at all premeditated, and was fueled in part by his admiration of someone who was famous... and of course, by alcohol.

Well, I think she DOES need a guy who can be a bit more of a jerk - which is why I think she and Angus work. I think turning Martin down was a good call - he was such a close friend that he's a bad guy for her to practice being a girlfriend with - they're way to incestous to risk on a relationship that was unlikely to work (which Faye knew).
That said, she also needs someone who isn't afraid of her and finds where sharpness appealing, which is why Agnus is a good call for her - he's amused/interested in her for the same reasons that martin was sometimes intimidated.

And yet Angus was typically dominated by Faye, the same as Martin, just not as obviously. I don't think that Faye will ever respect someone who permits her to push him around, no matter how much she likes him.
You are right though... the combination of her and Martin would ultimately be toxic. It's hard to not feel bad for him, though.

Also, the art is looking even better lately. It's so cool to see how far he's come.

Well, she did. He knew that if he cheated on her it was over, which is why I am PRAYING that Faye doesn't end up taking him back.
That said, Faye did get way to invested in him against her better judgement.

That he admitted to regretting it was unusual.
