I ended up missing an episode of Bones, so I had two this week - and both were really enjoyable. I especially liked Brennan declaring that spending time with Parker and Booth would be legitimately fun, and thus a self fulfilling prophecy, and the moment in the next episode when there is that nice long moment of silence were Brennan realizes that no, Booth only told that meatloaf story to her.

I also found a site (via my flist) of notable letters though out history. The speech written for Nixon in case the Apollo mission failed is subtly horrifying and the Son of Sam's letter to the police is not something you would want to read late at night while completely alone.

Also, wizefics is voting for which fandoms she's going to do epic rec posts for in December - and since she gave me permission, I'm going to try to through the vote. I would very much like a rec post of labyrinth fic, so I don't have to wade through The Pit myself - but it's lagging behind in votes. So, go vote for David Bowie's devirginification pants, please.

Hell yeah, I'll vote for David Bowie's Crotch O Whoa, Baby!

Hmm ... Bones. I'm gonna be honest and say I am NOT feeling this season whatsoever. The writing seems very off from last season and the characters are also coming across as different -- and not in a necessarily good way.

Booth is fine. He still feels like Booth to me. But Brennan is waaaay off from where they'd left her last season. And, as much as I love Angela, she's getting to be a little one-note for me. The whole Sweetes/whatever-his-girlfriend's-name-is thing in last week's ep was meh. Cute, but a bit stale.

I'm still holding out though. I mean, really, HOW many seasons has Bones been on and just NOW I'm taking issue with the writing? Yeah. So, I'm probably gonna see it through to the end, but I dearly hope the writing gets back on track.

Honestly, the last two episodes were the only ones this season that I enjoyed like earlier seasons.

I agree about Angela - and she used to be my very favorite character.

Well, I think there clearly HAS been a change in character depth, where was were early season Bones really excelled (especially second and I believe third season.)
