How do you people fail to see the epic fucked up maternal dynamic these to have going on? Why must you try to add sexy fun times? IT JUST DOES NOT WORK.

Eliot/Hardison/Parker

Since I have a complex and detailing understanding of the average slash fangirl's mind (even if sometimes I wish to god I didn't) I utterly understand why Hardison/Eliot is so popular. I am also fully onboard the Parker/Hardison they-are-so-adorable-and-awesome-and-bond-over-their-foster-care-childhoods-and-should-have-milk-chocolate-safe-cracking-geek-babies train.

*deep breath*

However, JUST BECAUSE THER ARE TWO AWESOME HARDISON SHIPS* DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU SHOULD SMUSH THEM TOGETHER, EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU WRITE A LEVERAGE FANFIC.

Seriously, people.

And stop with the freaking stealth Eliot/Hardison/Parker, where it looks like a gen/canon caper fic BUT IN REALITY is a cleverly disguised romance fic about Eliot joining Hardison and Eliot for sexyfuntimes.

*Of course, personally, I think there is ONE awesome Hardison ship and one slash ship I'm not interested in, but go with me for arguments sake.

epic fucked up maternal dynamic

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that's specifically why people like that ship - for the incestuous fucked-up-ness.

Normally I can get behind incestuous fucked-up-ness, but this time it just rubs me so very, very wrong.

Yeah, gotta agree with the above comment. Pseudo-incest helps fuel the flames.

But their relationship is so much cooler without the sexytimes!

Do you think that stops the Buffy/Giles shippers? Or, heck, a good chunk of the Transformers fandom?

*patpat* I know. It doesn't make sense, but it'll still happen. Nothing that can really be done about it. On the bright side, you're not trying to look for het in the Supernatural fandom.

Oh, trust me, I have done that.

If you're looking, I think I have an abnormally high percentage of het fics in my supernatural memories. (I actually have a huge soft spot for AU Dean/Jess).

It's weird what becomes a rarepair in some fandoms. Like, Eureka, I ship Jo/Taggart (which was actually canon for a few episodes, until the actor playing Taggart left the show) -- a shared enjoyment of shooting stuff gives them a more solid foundation than a lot of the couples on the show. Also Jack/SARAH, because I have a soft spot for AIs.

But 95% of the fandom is pure Stark/Carter. And the other 5% ships pairings other than mine.

for those of us who have a Leverage OT3, there are two superfluous Hardison pairings, haha

which is to say, I wish to sympathize with your rant.. but maybe more with the part about stealth pairings than just who exactly are the stealthy ones..
