Back before Hollywood realized how incredibly bankable Hugh Jackman is, he starred in Paperback Hero, a film about a trucker in the Australian outback who wrote a romance novel and published under the name of his (female) best friend.

And the entire thing is on youtube.

This film is a delight; you have Jackman speaking in his native accent, the two leads having Starbuck/Apoll-season-one-siblings+UST dynamics, singing, the outback, conversations about writing, storytelling, and who inspired the book.

Paperback Hero featured such a lovable Hugh! There's also the other pre-Hollywood Australian Hugh Jackman film on youtube if anyone here is a real fan.

I remember when I studied Australian Media, this is one the Movies we examined. It's a really good movie for a laugh and to examine properly as it deals with a lot the Sterotypes that Men of the rural areas have to deal with. It's been so long since I watched it, its a wee bit fuzzy but I am most deffs going to have to watch it again now that you reminded me of it.
