A Quinn/Rachel friendship would be really cool, though I'm not sure that would happen.
Yeah, it almost seems like it's so cool it's destined not to happen.
I really disliked the "secret" marriage storyline a lot though. It was strange and unrealistic (I mean, if she was that unhappy with the pool of possibly boyfriends or with her life she could have gotten a job somewhere else! And using someone like that was rather repulsive),
It was. I don't judge Emma too much because I find her so adorable and she didn't ever lie to Ken - she doesn't get many points for going along with the marriage, but... and she really handled herself with grace at the end.
I loved "Halo", and the "Proud Mary" dance routine (the wheel chairs) was amazing.

Part of me is really curious if they will do some songs from Spring Awakening, which she was a star in... though that might be weird too, even if "A Bitch of Living" would right up the alley of what they do on the show.
Ha ha ha! *dies* Oh, 'a bitch of living' would be PERFECT for this show. Especially early on, when with Quinn and Finn.

trufax. The mid-season finale actually made me re-like some of the characters whose choices had really been making me cringe. Plus, as you said, Emma is just made up of adorable.

Quinn's lying to Finn was really bothering me a lot. I really liked her moment where she says she'll take care of having this baby and herself by herself. It felt like she was taking responsiblity (and, okay, I'm not sure how she'll manage to do that considering she was living in Finn's house BUT I liked the sentiments). And I can understand, especially at that age and with such unsupportive mentors and family, wanting any support you could get but it often felt very conniving what Quinn did.
Previous to it actually happening, I thought I'd really hate it, if Rachel here the one to spill the beans about the big "Finn's not the Daddy" secret. But they managed to do it with finesse, making it as much about her desire for Finn to be happy as her desire to have Finn. And they also showed Rachel understanding how, in the short term, her plan backfired. Finn is not initially happy (He'll probably be glad in the long run he was told the truth, but now he's really hurt). Plus, they showed her realizing the she also hurt Quinn. Often TV has characters doing things but either not seeing the side effects of their actions or there being not side-effects or consequences. It's weird since TV is trying to tell a story, but... anyway, I thought the complex emotional fallout gave both girls a depth I'd felt was occasionally missing earlier in the season. Plus, I liked the scenes where Rachel is pretty gracious about Mercedes getting the ballad number.
Weirdly, I did not like Finn's story in the mid-season finale. I'm not sure how much I buy Will being able to be a mentor to Finn; Will's speech that changed Finn's mind seemed very fake. Buuuuut... maybe that's just me. Sadly, Finn seems to just be there some of the time, both emotionally and as a character to move the story forward, but his little voice-overs about "Oops! Shouldn't be thinking about Rachel's chest!" or "Drizzle is a nice name!" are cute enough and funny enough to overlook that.

This is true. I was cringing at the fact that fake!pregnant woman and real!pregnant woman where BOTH lying to their SOs about paternity, with no other pregnant women to balance it out (not that there needs to be more baby shinanigans, oh no).

*nods* Yes, it was really well done because Rachel's motivations for her actions where complex and nuanced, and then there were clear (and realistic) consequences.

Oh, I SO agree. I think that really shows how much Rachel has grown so far as a person and makes it even harder for me to bear the fact that she's so socially isolated, even within Glee club..

Well, Finn does have a tendency to go to Will for help, so I think it does make a lot of sense that Will could steer Finn where he wants him... although I didn't buy the epicness of his speech. It was all about how Finn was 'special' instead of the more realistic and quite convincing argument that Glee is still his best shot at a scholarship and regardless of if he has a baby on the way or not, he wants to get out of that town.
