I saw Alice In Wonderland this afternoon and is COVETING Alice's epic, gothic lolita dresses.

I must say, though the Hatter looked SO FUGLY.

From my friends who have seen it, the ones that didn't care for it said that the best part was Alice's clothes. I LOVE CLOTHES. I might just see it for the clothes. D:

Honestly, I had my doubts too.

I had a friend up for the day, and both she and my roommate wanted to see Alice and I gave them O_o face, and my roommate was like 'if I buy your ticket, will you go?'

And I was like 'let me think - ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY'

I want to watch it, but I'm worried Tim Burton is going to focus the plot on Johnny Depp's character again (as he is wont to do.) Is Alice the focal character and Hatter a peripheral one, as he rightfully should be?

Yes.

There is rather a lot of Depp, but Alice is CLEARLY our pov and our main character, and the climax of the story is all about her gaining agency in Wonderland and then going off to relish her agency in the real world.

Well, that does sound awesome! And kind of like Labyrinth. I'll definitely try and see that movie very soon, then.

Really?! I loved the Hatter! I actually thought he was absolutely adorable and squee-worthy, especially at the parting scene. Lol. I think it was the intense eye colour and white mascara that did it for me. But I've always had a thing for Johnny Depp. :P To each their own, I guess. Alice's costuming was undeniably brilliant, though.

I liked the character of the Hatter just fine.... but the white mascara totally didn't work for me.
