(And fairest1 , I know exactly what you mean about hoping that Castle and Beckett never get together - that would just ruin their almost-gen banter and remove Beckett's ability to have moral authority with her looks of incredulous, annoyed, semi-disgust.)

Isn't she the greatest? And it'd be cool if they got together, like, at the end of the series, with an indication that Beckett would still be in control (because, DUDE, there are some srs moments in season two . . .) but the dynamic as is, I love it too much to risk letting it change. Back in the X-Files days, this position was known as being a 'fencesitter'.

I'm going to wait until season 2 to decide if I want to see Beckett and Castle together. Right now, I'd be happy if she found someone else (who is of course awesome) to date/marry and just bantered with Castle.
