So, I answered a meme from goddesspharo, where she gave me a list of twenty actors and actress and asked me what my favorite films of theirs were.

She gave me:

1. Robert Downey Jr

IRON MAN. Enough said.

2. Harrison Ford

This was a tough call, by despite my fondness for Indian Jones, I am going to have to go with the original Star Wars trilogy.

3. Ryan Reynolds

...is one of those "funny" actors who I kind of dislike - that said, he's totally ripped and chopping wood in The Proposal, so I'll go with that.

4. Johnny Depp

The original PotC movie, hands down. He was such fun, and a fantastic way to more the plot along.

5. Edward Norton

This is going to surprise people, but The Painted Veil. That film was gorgeous, total scenery porn, and a romance for adults, all about two stubborn people realizing they're in love.

6. Nicolas Cage

City of Angels. Shut up, okay? I was at a very impressionable age when I saw it.

7. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

10 Things I Hate About You. God, that movie was such a classic. It's my generation's Pretty In Pink. For that alone I'm kind of appalled they decided to make it into a tv series.

8. George Clooney

I'm tempted to say "The Peacemaker" simply because my answers are looking a little too classy to be an honest reflection of my taste, but Up In The Air was fantastic, and one of the few times I have loved an unhappy ending, so I am going to have to go with with.

9. Tom Cruise

MI:2. (See? This is more like it.)

10. Hugh Jackman

X-MEN! X-MEN! X-Men!

And now for the ladies...

1. Rachel McAdams

Sherlock Holmes, although I have wanted to see Red Eye for approaching forever and almost want to pick that preemptively.

2. Alicia Silverstone

Clueless. Oh, the '90s...

3. Zoe Saldana

The Losers. And no, I haven't seen it yet. I saw the trailer, she was too badass for me not to pick that movie.

4. Anne Hathaway

The Devil Wears Prada.

5. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Buffy. Yes, it wasn't a movie, but like Kristin Bell, in another five questions, this is an actress who was in a fantastic television series and then acts in crap movies.

6. Katherine Heigl

27 Dresses.

That was the best rom-com I have seen in a long time.

7. Jane Lynch

Julie and Julia

8. Kate Winslet

Titantic.

9. Meryl Streep

Music Of The Heart

10. Kristen Bell

Veronica Mars. See 'Sarah Michelle Geller' for more detail.

ooooooooooooh pick me pick me!

Hugh Jackman is one of those actors where you're like GOD I LOVE HIM and then you sit down and start listing off his movies and have trouble finding more than, like, three that are really good, solid films.

Also Clueless! :-D

If you don't mind, I'd actually prefer not to ask questions of people ... I don't know if I could think up twenty actors and actresses who commonly known... but if you want, you could do this with the same people I was asked.

You are not the only one who saw City of Angels at an impressionable age. I still enjoy that movie... and Nicholas Cage (despite his terrible, terrible hair plugs (or whatever they are doing with it now)).

Ugh, I know. He needs to just accept that he can no longer play thirty-somethings.

I have to say I agree with you on a lot of these, though I haven't seen all of them. Comment on Up in the Air though, which I just finally saw and loved, but I didn't think the ending was really all that sad. What was your interpretation of it?

I think it was a very bittersweet ending. The younger girl (whose name I have forgotten) is moving on to better things, but the main character (whose name I have also forgot) is at this place were what he's been doing isn't working but he's only just barely starting to move in a new direction.

I'm a happy ending junkie, so bittersweet=sad in my book.

City of Angels
Oh man, I remember when Alanis was ALL OVER THAT.

I'm tempted to say "The Peacemaker"
Even George doesn't like that movie, but whatever, I kind of love it. I'll watch it whenever I happen to catch it on TV. It's so ridiculous and his character is kind of assy, but it's fun because it's so WTF.

I have wanted to see Red Eye for approaching forever and almost want to pick that preemptively
YOU HAVEN'T?!?! Dude, you need to get on that STAT.

I seem to remember George on a tank that's in the air? Or something? I think I watched it on tv too.

I know! I'm trying! I swear I've suggested it twice to people for various movie nights and been outvoted.
