So, I watched The Losers Sunday night and it was fabulous. Completely ridiculous in all the best ways. (Seriously, how do you top the bond-villain-ness of a guy who wants to start a global war and has an unexplained, evil hand?) I especially loved Aisha. She is in an unusual position for a woman in an action flick - she's controlling the motion on the plot, saving the heroes, and is believable as someone who is holding her own with these special forces soldiers. Also, I really liked that they didn't resolve the tension between her and Clay (I loved that the tension was about revenge and family and not will-they/won't they) and that first fight they had? Best fight I've seen in a long time. It was flirty and violent and knock-down-drag-out. I'm trying to get ahold of the comic series.

On the subject of comics, based on a recommendation from [livejournal.com profile] smillaraaq , I read the first volume of I.N.V.U. (yes, the title is terrible), which is addictive. First, it's been a long time since I've read any manga - I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is. Secondly, this volume passes the Bechel test with flying colors, and thirdly, the soap-opera-ness of it isn't restrained to the romance - we have two overlapping love triangles AS WELL AS storylines about a.) supporting yourself financially b.) career goals c.) family issues/gender fuckery which combines to make me want the next volume now now now. (It also really reminds me of The Vampire Diaries, and I'm not totally sure why.)

Also, on the subject of things I love, I'm rewatching Alias and hot damn, I had forgotten how pure and excellent and well-constructed the first episodes of the first season (I just finished "Parity") are. Also, Gina Torres ♥.
