Also, I've ordered a very expensive electronic piece of equipment that I've been wanting for a long time, snagged a really good price on 7 volumes of Tramps Like Us, and should have nothing more to do but work, practice French and wait for packages to arrive for a couple weeks.
That means that *gasp* hometown friends, I may actually be able to see you in person! I know! Shocking! (I'm usually free in the afternoons, so drop me a line if you want to hang out. Or I'll see you at Writer's Group, were I will actually be for the first time in about a month.)

ALSO, am terribly glad that you returned from your trip to California with a Visa and doesn't sound like you've had as many problems with les idiotes at the study abroad place. OH! And I shall send you some french music asap.

And it only sounds like I didn't have trouble because I have been two busy dealing with les idiotes at my program who decide to drop the ball right before I really need them not to, and stressing about the one form I don't have to post about it.
I'd love some french music. ^_^
And I may take you up on that offer. I really want to see you, but I need to find out when Kristina's birthday is, and I have another friend in Seattle who I haven't seen for six months, and I need to find out if it will work to see him... it's all very complicated, and I don't have half enough time. I'm going to try and connect with people tomorrow and figure things out.
No one's pleased with lj right now, and I while I sympathize, I have too many other things going on to make statement or whatever. Sorry, I'm really annoyed that they're pulling this crap three months after the last screw-up, but I refuse to let my happy place turn into oh my god stress must make a statement. Plus, I can't do a mass transfer of my lj unless I have a pc and since I don't have acess to one... yeah.)
(I'm totally going to write either Snape/Hermione, or even better since I've wanted to since I read HP7, Snape/Lily smut, from when they're both underage. Because I'm ornery like that. Any good ideas for either of those fics?)

Just keep me posted! I know how crazy things are right now, and let me assure you that we will work around your schedule as much as we can to make things just a bit easier for you. I think Kristina was thinking the 21st, but that's a Tuesday so I'm not quite sure. I'll give her a call tonight and find out.
Oh, LJ indeed. I know exactly how you feel though--I really am fed up with things here, but I just don't have the energy to move somewhere else. I made a GJ account just in case you know, the entire fandom leaves overnight or something. But I'd rather find some kind of compromise and stay, even if that does not seem possible at this point. Besides, I think any statement we try to make will either be ignored or LJ will be pleased that all the fandom kids left. Ah well, we'll see how things go, yeah?
(If you write Snape/Lily I'm totally writing some with you. I'll think of some ideas and send another reply. I know, it's really petty and stupid, but man. Since this started I've really wanted to write underage smut. I feel so under LJ's radar that nothing could really happen (famous last words, I know) but it would make me feel so much better.

I called Kristina and she's having her party on the 21st, even though it's a tuesday, which turns out to work really well. I'm going to hang out with another friend I haven't seen in 6 months in the morning, and then bring him to her party, where I'll get to hang out with you and Kristina. Yay! And by that time I should be either excited or terrified - probably both.
I don't want to leave, but I wish I could figure how how to back up my journal on a mac - the one way to do it wasn't working for me. And I doubt it will be an over night thing. And I don't think lj will wind up being pleased that we left if we do - we give them too much money. All those paid accounts really bring in the dollars, you know? And considering they back off on their last statement 3 months ago with they were called on their bs, they might back down.
I've been wanting to write Snape/Lily since the 7th book, and as soon as this news broke I wanted to write underaged smut in protest. Which will be ignored by the powers that be because I'm small fry as well, and I write het. (knock on wood.)
