I am really looking forward to the fact that these two concluding films are done by director David Yates because he's made the last two films, which I loved. I loved OotP because it felt like a movie (a fun movie) instead of a book adaptation. I loved HBP because it was so beautifully shot and so personal in its emotions. But above all, David Yates has proven to me that he can take HP books and make them into big, glorious, thoughtful, and SUPER FUN summer movies. Which is what I want the last 2 movies to be as well.
Re: ...what little sequel^7 movie are we talking about now?
I admit, I was VERY impressed with HBP. I thought the way he did the vanishing cabinet was FANTASTIC and there was a nice gothic sensibility to the whole thing.
Although I honestly have doubts about the movie itself. First of all, I DO NOT think that the 7th book needed to be two, and secondly, there is not a natural mid-book climax (seriously, the middle drags SO badly and they take SO much time to set up Harry's quest.)
Honesty, I remember so little of the last book... which of course made the trailer even more exciting. |D But I guess the fact that I can't remember anything besides there being a Camping Trip of Death speaks for itself. You'd think a film could cut it down to bare bones... eh.
I love this trailer! The only thing that I found silly was that the other Death Eaters all seemed to be dressed exactly like Snape. Sometimes I think the costuming department for HP lacks imagination -- like their almost fuck up of wanting to put Lucius in a muggle business suit.

Yeah.... I think it's hard, though, because a lot of those characters would look fucking ridiculous if they were all wearing robes, as described in the books.
(And actually, I wish they had done a bit more to make the movies comprehensible if you hadn't already read the books, because I really don't think the HP movies function very well as movies in their own right.)
