Ah ha ha, oh, Arthur. You and Jeff Winger should have a douche-off. (Jeff would win, btw.) Also, Bradley James has a ridiculously square chin. It's attractive though. And he says Guineviere well. One point for the show is that you can ship anybody with anybody else. That's about the only thing the writers get points for.

And is it just me, or do the accents come and go a bit on this show?

Also, everyone should totally check out the vid Make Something Good. I love the sense of Arthur being something/someone that Gwen and Merlin are constructing.

(FYI, I watched 1.10 and 1.12 today.)

random tidbit - apparently women find men with square(r) chins more attractive, because the more testosterone a man has, the squarer his chin is.

this is obviously not universally true, as everyone's tastes vary, but... interesting nonetheless.

It's funny, because I was just reading about different cultural standards of beauty, and in Japan they prize a smoother jawline for both women and women, so I was thinking about how the fact that Bradley chin works for me is (partially? largely?) cultural.

part of me wonders how much it's men telling us this ;) or whether the men with more testosterone just beat out the men with less, so what we see more often is more familiar-->what we like.

but something tells me johnny depp's attractiveness has nothing to do with his chin :)

Arthur is the kind of guy that...I just really want to see something tragic happen to. I know he's not the man he's going to be and although he has some very noble qualities, he's arrogant (as opposed to someone like Richard, who was a fairly humble warrior). I just keep expecting something drastic to happen to bring out Arthur's truly good traits.

So, does Red have a new guilty pleasure show?

Oooh, I agree with this. Tragedy is a catalyst for personal growth and maturation, and goddess knows he needs some.

Red does. *blushes*

Though Bradley's not my usual type, I find him attractive too. For me its the eyes. There's something about the shape and the deep blue color, as opposed to typical pale blue. Arthur is a douche though, and it gets worse before it gets better. In S02 he's come to genuinely care about certain people, and he's still a dick to them. But at least he's learning. Very. Slowly.

His eyes are QUITE delicious, I will admit.

And I think enjoying what a fucking prat Arthur is is helpful to enjoying the show. (It doesn't hurt that I could care less about Merlin, but it would be hard.)

I think you're right. If I cared enough to care about the um, accuracy of the story I wouldn't be able to watch. But at the same time the fact that it IS so butchered is what keeps me from getting invested. Vicious cycle.

Lol I just woke up from a nap, did that make any sense? XD

It does. I'll admit, once I got over my 'oh my god, writers, everyone is not in their early twenties!' I haven't been too bothered by the inaccuracies.
