I'll admit, the first half of this episode bored me silly. It was all blah blah Lockwood blah with bonus boring Jeremy. And then! And then TVD was epic and reminded me why I loved this show!
Liz finds out about Damon and Caroline!
Damon was hurt! Because Liz was going to kill him! Everything with him and Liz and Caroline was awesome. And those of you who said that Damon knew Elena and Stefan were faking were dead on the money.
It's really hard for me to watch Caroline rejecting Liz over and over, so I liked Damon's comment to her about it, even as I'm like "whatever, abusive ex boyfriend." So pleased that he defended Caroline to Liz at the end. Damn it! I just want Damon and Liz to be BFFs and for Liz and Caroline to work through their issues!
On the subject of Caroline... please curb stomp Mason Lockwood every episode.
I'm really pleased with how they're having Stefan do back on the blood. I almost wish he'd just pulled out a bag and drank all low-key, but the scene were Elena feeds him was quite titillating.
I am now more convinced than ever that Katherine in playing a long game. I can't wait to see what it is, although she needs to break the neck of her werewolf lackey. And Tyler. And Jeremy.

There were a few nice brotherly moments with the boys, too. I'm finding myself just adoring Stefan more all the time this season.
Lockwoods = boring. Except for the Katherine connection, obviously.

Agreed. And I hope she has a much better motive than that she lurvs Stefan. Just cause havoc, Katherine! It's what you're good at!

Honestly, I feel back for both Liz and Caroline. They just hurt each other so much! And when one reaches out the other slaps them away! Oh, ladies, how so cruel? Also, I like how menacing Damon is even with someone he calls friend. Damon, you keep being the vampire you are.

Agreed! She's way to much of a wild-card for one man to handle!

Exactly!

I'm getting tired of Mason. His ep count has outlasted much more interesting characters like Isobel and Pearl even though he's not even doing anything. GET INTERESTING OR DIE, MASON.

learningusing Tyler's name for most of the first season; itwas so much easiermade so much more sense to just call him Jackass.Because I am totally one of those people that needs to comment about/talk to characters the entire time. Ahem. ;)
On to the curb stomping! (Also his mom- she BUGS me a lot for some reason...)

If we don't get something really cool with her, I'm going to be disappointed. She has a subtle creep factor that should TOTALLY be taken advantage of.

Um YEAH she does. If there is no subplot for her ever... Her character is simply a Stepford Wives-esq bitch with no purpose, which would suck. :(

I'm also really glad that she confessed to Elena. I was getting tired of her being used by Katherine just like Damon.
The guy who plays Mason is handsome but he gives me the creeps when he smiles. I guess that means he's doing his job. A bit of me is sad that they can't have other supernatural friends, like a monster club, now that Bonnie quit the group and Anna's dead. They're down a few members. I guess that Tyler's being groomed for that, and I'm okay with him as long as it doesn't detract from Caroline's side plot in the long run.
I don't like how gender-fied the werewolf stuff seems to be, though. They need a hot werewolf aunt to be recruited when Tyler kills someone in a season or two.

Same here. I was SO expecting for her to just hesitate until one of the boys came along or something else happened but no - you touch Caroline's best friend, she's going to throw you into a tree, knee you in the balls, and then kick you while you're down a time or two.
I kinda love that girl.

Agreed on the werewolf aunt. Plus, at this point I am beyond convinced that Tyler is either going to kill a.) a girl b.) Jeremy, who'll pop back up in two minutes, and I honest do not know which option I hate more.

I hadn't thought about it, but it does seem like you're right. Tyler's got this pre-abuser troubled kid thing going and the show is trying to say it's just adolescent werewolf stuff affecting him and thus imply it's not his fault. Which I'd be okay with if he still owned up to it. At least Mason, lackey he may be, is in control of his aggression.
BTW, I'm pretty confident that Katherine knew the secret of murder as a curse and that she identified and "created" Mason's werewolf for her own agenda. She may have even learned it from Isobel, who was studying the town's occult history.
And...
Tyler is either going to kill a.) a girl
OMG you're making me want to write fic. Fic where the girl Tyler kills is Elena. Accidentally, not that it matters. And while she's dying Damon cuts his wrist and tries to force blood into her mouth and Stefan is screaming no no NO NO She doesn't want this SHE DOESN'T WANT THIS and then Damon is ordering Caroline to hold Stefan back and then Elena dies and
it's done.
To be continued in Chapter 1: I'm Hungry.

Yep. And I never had to watch him shove Vicki against a tree and ignore her saying no and try to sneak her in the back door so that she doesn't interact with his parents....

That would be AWESOME.
(I have to say, though, that if this series doesn't end with Elena getting turned, I'm honestly going to be really, really disappointed.)

SO FIERCE. Yes, every episode, let's do this. Although Caroline's comment about how Caroline wasn't her daughter anymore broke my heart a little, Damon's answer was pretty awesome. Heartstrings, played.
Katherine/Mason is interesting, no doubt. Quite refreshing after all the "I love Stefan only Stefan who are these other people?" from last episode.

It was so fantastic! I can't wait to see where Damon and Liz and Caroline go from here!

SO MUCH SO.
Even if they try to pull 'Katherine did this all for love of Stefan!' they've shown enough that there is not way the audience (imho) can buy it completely (or, depending, at all).

*cough* Oh god, I am looking forward to a Lockwood curb stomp. And I, um, am also looking forward to those Stefan/Elena scenes.
