In Which Red Talks About Television

I really think that milady_milord  should have a hiatus on ficcy Fridays for a while. There are very few responses to the prompts being written, and frankly, that's not a surprise. Also, I think it's a bit harder to be enthused about comment memes like that when the show is airing a new episode every week.

Oh, and I'm all caught up with Castle (for the few hours until the new episode airs), so siapom , nimblnymph , I believe we had some things to discuss? Also, regarding last week's episode, Kate totally broke my heart on the phone to Royce. I wanted to give her a hug so badly. And when she said 'oh, it was just to keep him on the phone' and then walked away and her face just crumpled for a minute? Oh, Kaaaaaateeeee. Plus that scene in the bar? SO MUCH CHEMISTRY OH MY GOD. I was totally expecting Kate's old TO to make a move on her. (And I was actually going 'no, don't nail your old training officer' and then I thought, 'wait, why SHOULDN'T she? He's pretty fine!') 

In other news, there is a new promo for upcoming episodes of TVD:

~First of all, Bonnie giving Mason a migraine from hell? Awesomesauce.

~The way it was cut made me think that when Bonnie said "I saw him with Elena" we're supposed to think she saw Mason and Katherine but I call mislead; I'm betting it was Damon and Elena.

~The scene with all the boys cowboying up struck me as funny and not dramatic... but if one of them kills Katherine, I am going to be so pissed. Honestly, I really think that Elena should be the one to kill Katherine. First of all, we've had way too many instances of guys killing awesome ladies, and secondly, if Stefan killed Katherine it would be creepy and if anyone else killed Katherine it would feel cheap. The one exception I can think of is Damon and I could buy that because a.) she'd basically been yanking him around for 150 years and he honestly loved her and b.) I do not believe he and Elena are in any way an endgame ship, so the audience would not be expected to buy 'he killed his ex and then went of into the sunset with his new gf who looked identical to his old, yay!'

Please note, I'm usually pretty spoiler-phobic so if you know upcoming plot points or information that ISN'T shown in the above promo, please don't tell me.

It seemed popular that's why we kept it going, but I can mention this to the other mods and see if they think we should put it on hiatus for a bit.

Re: TVD, wow, we totally don't see one aspect alike at all. After "The Return," I've become convinced that Damon/Elena are endgame and everything KW/JP have said in general terms just confirms it, in my opinion. With that said, if Katherine dies, I think it will likely be Elena, Damon or Stefan who does it. In that order.

I'd be curious as to what other people think about a hiatus for the Ficcy Fridays... because the idea is awesome and there was some great fic over the summer, but it doesn't seem like people are really writing it lately.

I have a number of D/E friends on my flist and I know a lot of them think that D/E is going to be endgame. Personally, though, while I think Stefan and Elena are going to break up at some point and I think we're going to get a period of Damon/Elena makeouts, I think Elena is going to end up with Stefan. First, I think he's more mature than Damon is (in the sense that Damon is discovering his conscious while Stefan, you know, isn't) and secondly, Stefan and Elena have always been really functional. He respects her, she trust him, they TALK ABOUT SHIT. As appealing as Damon/Elena is, I think the wiser (and more predictable) choice would be Stefan/Elena.

But TVD makes a habit of surprising me, so I readily admit I could be wrong about this.

At the beginning, I could have said with surety that they wouldn't pair Elena with a serial rapist who's hurt everyone she cares about and tried to force himself on her twice. Now, I no longer have even that scrap of faith. Ah, American TV.

WHY AM I ALWAYS SO PISSY ON YOUR TVD POSTS :( I just honestly do not see how they're going to how they're going to do it. I mean, are they just going to completely handwave the whole business? I truly, honestly don't get how they are going to act like it's okay.
