I am so out of practice with drabbles. I keep picking ideas that are much too plotty for a hundred words.

I just got back into writing drabbly things! (I say drabbly things because my "drabbles" tend to get maybe a hundred or so words over standard drabble limit.) You could turn them into a one-shot if they get big enough, I guess.

I could, but one of the reasons I'm forcing myself to be exactly 100 words is a question of time. Which I don't have enough of to write ten 1,000+ on-shots.

I hate writing drabbles for that very reason, just because its so hard to get to the point, and still anchor it some idea that makes sense.

And about the time thing. I know a friend that can write 1,000 words in 20 minutes. Jealous y/y?

Ahh. Well, then yes, I that is a bit of a problem. I tend to come back to pieces I don't feel are yet complete again and again and again. But everyone complains I update slowly. Ah hah hah hah...

I always feel a need to provide BACKSTORY. Which negates the purpose of the drabble. Le sob.

Yeah, in a drabble you have space for, like, a sentence of backstory, if that.

That depends on how satisfied/quality those 1,000 words are....

(But yes. I have a friend who consistently does Nano. Like, three times a year. I'm crazy jealous of that.)

ahaha i am a loser and refuse to stick to the confines of 100 words because i LOVE backstory.

Same!

That is because backstory is delicious!
