Give me a fandom and I'll tell you three unpopular opinions about it. If you give me a show/book/movie/etc that I'm not fannishly active about, I'll give you three things I dislike about the media in question instead.
1.) Elena is not boring, especially in the first season, when she was clearly a girl struggling to enjoy life again and frustrated that she wasn't who she used to be.
2.) Stefan is also not boring. Admittedly, he's a little melodramatic, but it clearly runs in the family.
3.) Elena loving Damon would likely help him much less than fandom would have us believe.
1.) I find it very hard to be too emotionally invested in how Bill mistreats Sookie. But every time he fails as Jessica's maker, I want to stake his ass.
2.) Jason fucking Stackhouse.
3.) That Jessica's virginity issue was never resolved. How are she and Hoyt working around it? How's their sex life? What about plastic surgery? Is there any that she could get her hymen removed?
In other news, I started a rewatch of Buffy and to be honest, I think I've forgotten how awesome Buffy, the character, is. She's quippy and blonde and kills things! I can't believe I ever forgot how epic she is.
Also, every time I watch early Buffy, I wish I had watched it when it first aired, without meeting Spike before Angel. Because I can sense the twelve-year old deep within my soul who would have loved Angel with all her preteen heart.
I'm not going to attempt to rewatch every episode, but I'm definitely going to hit all the highlights and good one shots. It's been almost a decade, so I'm really curious to see what I remember and what I've forgotten and if my opinions about anything have changed.
1.) The only Michael is allowed to have a plan that works or save the day, EVER. Seriously, Fi and Sam SHOULD be able to handle themselves, even if they aren't super-spy Michael Westen.
2.) All the establishing shots of girls in bikinis.
3.) That it's not really a true ensemble show; it's really the adventures of Michael Weston and co.
1.) Alexis' subplot was kind of pointless. Having it be Ashley was the most dull resolution and I kept wanting it to tie into the main plot somehow.
2.) The switcheroo with the killer at the end. That happens every episode, and it gets old, even in an otherwise tight and suspenseful forty minutes.
3.) The more wasn't done with Castle being similar to the killers, given the glee he takes in murder and trickery.
That said, BANG UP EPISODE, WRITERS. I loved that they brought in the father of one of the earlier murder victims, and the whole thing was just very taut and suspenseful, especially those scenes in the box with Beckett. (Although, really, I think Ryan should have died in this episode and Castle should be in intensive care.)
Regarding last week's episode (which I also really enjoyed), even though I knew it was coming, I adored Castle's poleaxed look when Beckett nonchalantly tells him that she's break him out of jail. In that vein, what do you think of Castle renewing his relationship with one of his ex wifes?
1.) I know it's part of the show, but I wish the gang didn't always win all the time. One of the reasons I really like the second season finale is that Nate got pinched.
2.) The writers continually teasing us with Sophie's backstory.
3.) NOTHING HAPPENING WITH THE PARKER/HARDISON RELATIONSHIP.
1) Well, I never thought that Elena was boring! I think that she's an extraordinary person trying to be ordinary (mostly because her extraodinariness is showing through the supernatural-induced trauma conga line the show's putting her through)
2) I like Damon much better than Stefan. But I never thought that Stefan was boring. I think that he and Elena are uninteresting together... but that's mostly because I feel their relationship was severely rushed, not because of the characters themselves.
3) Um, I'm a Damon/Elena shipper. But I really don't think that Elena will love him back, the way he needs her to, until he's helped himself. Gaining her love isn't the cause of his evolution, but the reward for it. I hope, anyway. Because the way Damon's been acting in the first few s2 eps, at least, he mostly certainly doesn't deserve her. I'm definitely in this for the long haul-slash-slow burn where these two are concerned.

I know. The doppleganger has really elevated her into someone who it makes sense to build a show around (instead of just a randomly special Ordinary Girl who is capnip to vampires) and I adore how clever she is. When she doesn't know something, she damn well gets her evil vampire double to tell her.

3 Things I Dislike About BtVS
2.) The way Buffy's relationship with Riley was resolved. Or not.
3.) How (realistically, admittedly) they made Dawn. I think that was a tactical error.

Unpopular Opinions For Tortal
2.) I like Alanna better than Daine, even though the Daine books are better written.
3.) First Test and Lady Knight are actually dull in some respects, as much as I like Kel's character.

Unpopular Opinions For FMA
2.) Roy/Ed is one of the least interesting pairings you can do with those two characters.
3.) FMA's gender dynamics are SO NOT perfect. Good, but there are certainly things to critique.
