Just because:

Meta Meme: Comment here with a fannish topic or question, and I will talk about it.

and
Tell me about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you one sentence from that story.

I keep trying to write Henrietta/Giuse as actually *acting* on all that sexual tension they have in spades, but it ain't happenin'. I could make it work with Rico/Jean (though not consensually), or Hilshire/Triela (easily enough), but Henrietta and Giuseppe just won't seem to cooperate.

How do you see it happening, if it ever did? *muses*
Thursday, November 8th, 2007 05:29 pm (UTC)
Oh, please, please write this! I see it happened somewhere away from the Academy (is that the right term, or am I confusing this with Firefly?) on either a vacation or a job. And I see it as either a gradual progression from brotherly affectionate touches, to something that goes much much, farther before Guise realises it, and then he doesn't quite have the self-control to stop it. Or, alternatively, there's a situation like in "the Wolf Breaks Free" except this time Guise takes her to bed, instead of sending Henrietta back to her own.

There IS a Henrietta/Giuse more-than-siblings kiss up at the Anonymous Kink Meme at my journal... that was one of the situations where I tried to go all sexual and just... failed. *sighs heavily*
Monday, November 12th, 2007 01:13 pm (UTC)
*teleports over to that meme.*

And I highly doubt you failed.

Hmmm . . . had Lars lived, what do you think the odds are that he'd have been turned into a Jager within a week of Agatha brewing up her first batch of Jagerbrau?

Heh, it'd have to be the Girl Genius/Fables crossover. You made the character interactions so believable!
Thursday, November 8th, 2007 05:28 pm (UTC)
Very low. Or at least, they better be. Lars was best as just a regular guy, and I would have been great to see him react to her as the Heterdyne heir.

(He still would have had a total crush on her.)

And actually, I'm really, really regretting we never got to see Gil getting really jealous regarding Lars. Imagine his opinon on the 'is that a wrench in your pocket' play!

~~~
Ummm... do you mean the Fables/10th Kingdom one? Because I've yet to write Fables/Girl Genius. Until now, that is.
"So, you've got a nigh-unstoppable scouge heading to this dimension?" Agatha said with a contemplative look on her face. "Well, this is.... actually, kind of same old, same old. I wouldn't worry-" she nodded at her lab assistant, and smiled, "we're quite good at this sort of thing."
Thursday, November 8th, 2007 06:10 pm (UTC)
True. I just had a theory, well over a year ago, that Lars would wind up accidentally Jagerized after arriving in Agatha's lab feeling thirsty.
Yes. There should have been a Gil-Lars glare-off.
Well, the meme is to tell you about a story you haven't written, and I know you haven't written Fables/Girl Genius previously.
But it is pretty awesome.
Friday, November 9th, 2007 05:52 pm (UTC)
I could see that happening - at the least, it would make great fanfic.
And yes, there should be a glare off.
*headdesk* You're right about that. My mistake.
Friday, November 9th, 2007 06:59 pm (UTC)
*nodnod* I'll add it to my 'to write' list.
Hmm . . . considering the focus on having Agatha coming to him willingly in his oh-so-awesome rant, I figure Gil wouldn't actually do anything to Lars. Well, beyond perhaps a case of one-upmanship and of course the glare-off.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 12:59 pm (UTC)
Hey, nobody says that 'I want her to chose freely' means that Gil has to act standoffish and give Lars 'a sporting chance.'
Oh, now I want to see some fic where they've competing for her affections and she doesn't even notice.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 02:33 pm (UTC)
No, no -- I mean in the sense of Lars not dying in a lab "accident" or somehow ending up getting shipped to the West Pole. Doing his best to impress the hell out of Agatha and taking advantage of the brownie points aquired by reviving her parents is fair game. Not forcing Agatha to make the choice, but demonstrating that choosing him will be the best option.
Heee! Oh yes, Agatha would likely be oblivious to it.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 04:17 pm (UTC)
Oh, yeah, of course Gil wouldn't do anything like that. I bet he'd be tempted though.
But Agatha would be oblivious and Zeetha would be in stitches.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 04:39 pm (UTC)
Yes. Especially if he took her advice to build a death ray . . . well, he'd need to try it out, right?
Zeetha would snicker over it and probably root for Lars.
Oh, and something from the GG cast list that plotbunnied me:
Castle Heterodyne
The home of the Heterodynes. . . It is insanely loyal to the Heterodyne family, and it spends a great deal of time and effort making sure that there will be another generation of Heterodynes to carry on the trouble. Young Heterodynes learn very quickly not to bring home dates.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 04:56 pm (UTC)
It's for science! And yeah, Zeetha would be rooting for.... Agatha to try them both out before making a final deciscion!
And Oh. My. God.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
(But Brian, you know garter belts make my thighs look plump.)
And I'm thinking orgy.
Monday, November 12th, 2007 07:50 pm (UTC)
Heh. Especially since Zeetha's a follower of the goddess of loooooove.
Agatha would probably go 'erk' a lot at the prospect.
Gil and Lars . . . would not want to share.
But if the castle insisted that she, er, mate . . . there's lots of precident in nature of species where the males fight over the chance to be with the females. It'd be close, but my money's on Gil. Lars isn't out of shape, but Gil's been spending months training himself against the worst clanks the Wastelands had to offer. And improving them first.
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 02:18 pm (UTC)
Yeah. We have fun festival days.
And yes, Agatha would.
"
That fic needs to be written. And hell yes Gil would win - I mean, that guy has been trained from practically infancy to be an evil overlord, plus all the fencing he does. I mean, I love Lars, but he'd be hopelessly outclassed faced with a Wulfenbach with Agatha as a prize.
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 02:25 pm (UTC)
Come to think of it, Agatha would probably resent being fought over like some prize to be won . . . and try to render them both ineligible.
At which point the castle, prepared after having at least a few chemist Sparks among the mechanic Sparks, would release a cloud of aphrodesiacs . . . it might wait to see how the initial fight turned out first -- the stronger male would produce stronger future Heterodynes, by nature's logic.
*snicker* It's even more certain than the old adage of "Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line."
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 05:16 pm (UTC)
This... needs to be written.
Wednesday, November 14th, 2007 09:00 pm (UTC)
. . . co-write? I'm not that great at smut, and it's pretty much a given here.
This fic must exist. It would violate a law of the universe or something otherwise.
So, let's see . . . need a setup that'll allow them all to be living and in the Castle and all . . .
Alternate timeline. Klaus had one of those wasp weasels on-hand that munched the spark-infesting wasp before he could be infected; Klaus noticed and bluffed a collapse. Lucrezia didn't realize and spilled her guts, then put on the locket. Klaus, wanting to contain Lucrezia but (not being infected) wasn't desperate or enraged enough to use lethal force and just swung out at Agatha. Again, Lars took the blow, but was only knocked out. He asked Agatha to explain in a deadly calm tone. Agatha was momentarily disoriented, what with the finding herself in a new location in different clothes surrounded by an army thing, but explained the situation as she did in the giant projected message.
Since, by every appearance, Agatha was willing to cooperate -- she wanted to be killed if infected by a Slaver wasp, and would likely say the same if Lucrezia took control and it seemed to be for good. This would allow Klaus a measure of trust in her, and given that word is now out she's Bill and Lucrezia's long-lost daughter, he can't simply kill her outright.
So he takes her and her friends (they're not about to leave her alone) to Castle Wulfenbach guarded but unchained.
Gil is thrilled to be reunited with Agatha. Agatha has mixed feelings -- he still makes her heart go ba-bump, but he was a bit forceful about wanting to marry her last time. Given her current situation, the strong offer of protection makes more sense, but she's still annoyed. She settles on apologizing about Othar and says she pushed him off the escape zepplin. Gil smiles at this and leads her to his lab where she reunites with Adam and Lilith. There's quite a bit of hugging and tears and glee and shock at Adam being able to talk.
Later, it's decided that Agatha will be permitted to work in a lab of her own -- but only under Gil's observation. He's happy to work as her assistaint, and he recognizes the way she works and could easily pick up any changes in her style that might indicate Lucrezia is taking control.
Agatha explains this to her friends to help them stop worrying that either a)She'll have her brain dissected or b)she'll turn into the Other and try to enslave them. Lars puts a protective arm around Agatha and reassures her that he's there for her in this trying time. Gil, who is being introduced to everyone, catches his eye and the glare-off begins.
Consulting with Adam and Lilith, Klaus decides that it would be best if they go to Castle Heterodyne. It's got a device that might be able to help -- probably some ancestor followed a faulty body-switching device with a more successful mind 'filter'. Since he did the experiment on himself, it's designed to keep only the Heterodyne brainwaves.
So Castle Wulfenbach makes its way to Mechanicsburg. Gil and Lars compete for Agatha's affections on the way -- perhaps a montage sequence with things like Lars surprising her with a romantic dinner(she covers the free tablecloth space with notes) or Gil giving her a new wrench set, which she quickly puts to use. Zeetha observes all this with a snicker and occasional encouraging word to Lars.
Gil asks Agatha for her opinion of the death ray he's built (he does a good job when he puts his mind to it, she finds) while Lars is hanging around, offering to lend an extra helping hand. Gil eyes his new death ray with much temptation, but decides against it.
Finally, the night before they arrive in Mechanicsburg, Zeetha asks Agatha which she's leaning toward. Agatha: "What do you mean by that?" Zeetha spells it out and advises her that the scientific approach requires a beta test of both. Agatha goes 'erk' a lot.
Sounds like you've writen just about everything but the smut already. *grins* Are you sure you need my help?
But this sounds great.
Thursday, November 15th, 2007 06:02 pm (UTC)
This is just the outline for the first third or so . . . there's still a ton to be written. Since it's more than a PWP, there's got to be slow and possibly ominious development as Agatha and friends head into Mechanicsburg, probably follow some of the plot aspects of the current arc to get into the castle and establish Agatha as the Heterodyne heir. And, of course, Agatha would send out a troop of dingbots to fix the Castle so it wouldn't kill any of her friends. Then figure out where the machine was left, have Zeetha make more innuendo-laden comments about Lars or Gil that make Agatha go 'erk' more. Then after they track down the brain filter, have Agatha give it a tune-up, and Agatha gets her head back to herself again (because the smut would become another kettle of weasels entirely if, in the heat of the moment, Agatha's locket were removed). Then hey, it's time to check out Agatha's new digs. Soon after Agatha, Lars and Gil set off to explore (neither of the guys wanting to leave her alone with the other), the Castle (somewhat desperate to hurry things along after being left abandoned for so long, quietly starts closing off a corridor here, lighting a hallway there, until the trio is lead to a rather lavish and cozy bedroom. And the door shuts.
A mechanical voice explains that it's Agatha's duty as the last remaining Heterodyne to carry on the family line, and until she . . . ahem . . . makes some progress in that regard, it's not letting her out.
Gil and Lars, being red-blooded human males who are with an attractive female who they're very fond of, aren't about to argue with the Castle. Being of sound mind and knowing how scary Agatha can be, they don't openly voice support for the plan where she can hear.
Agatha, of course, will try to break out. The Castle knows Heterodynes and has likely had centuries of practice at this, so it'll let her try. Gil and Lars half-heartedly give her a hand with it.
A few hours later, food is delivered through a panel in the wall that can't be hacked through. The voice explains that if they're going to be stubborn, it'll at least let them keep up their energy.
The food is spiked with aphrodesiacs. Gil and Lars, baser instincts taking over, have no intention of sharing. So they fight -- it wouldn't be over quickly, but Gil's taken on huge clanks from the Wastelands. Lars would be out cold soon enough. A door opens and Gil tosses Lars out, not being in the state of mind to consider escaping.
Agatha, meanwhile, is rather enjoying this display. In her current state of mind, it's somewh
at fun being fought over.
Smut ensues.
After, there might be a sweet scene where Gil offers her a ring he's been working on since discovering she was alive -- it has a tiny death ray in it.
. . .
Okay, so maybe I just needed someone to talk it out with. Possibly aid in fleshing it out, since I keep getting awesome and elaborate ideas that I never actually write.
Friday, November 16th, 2007 03:30 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I think you just needed to talk it out.
Go forth and write, my child! And if you need any help with the actual smut or working something out, PLEAE come to me.
Friday, November 16th, 2007 11:37 pm (UTC)
Thanks. Wanna serve as my GG-based beta? It's useful to have someone who can point out if I've focused too much on my braincanon and not canon-canon.
And I probably will take you up on that offer.
Saturday, November 17th, 2007 05:22 pm (UTC)
Sure!
I haven't read the Saiyuki mangas, but if you have, or want to answer this question for the anime- What was, in your opinion, one of the most touching moments in the Saiyuki storyline? This could be regarding one, two, or all four of the guys.
Hmm.....a story you haven't written....Ok, Hakkai and Yaone are going through a rough time in their relationship, it looks like each is ready to call it quits, it looks like each of them is waiting for the other to call it quits first, but they let the issues linger heavily between them and don't really talk about it. However, since they are both good cooks and spend a lot of time preparing meals together, in their own separate corners of the kitchen, each notices that the other selects ingredients that are still good but will spoil if left unused for too much longer, and the whole situation becomes a metaphor for their souring relationship. But in the end, they mutually decide to patch things up because they do love each other and don't want to see every good moment they had "spoil" and rot away because deep down they know they are great together. :D
This... is a tough one.
Okay, there is a scene in the lastest episode of Reload, where Gojyo and Hakkai are talking about there futures, and there is just this perfect blend of world-weariness and hope and deep, deep friendship between the two characters.
Also, without being campy or obvious, this scene illustrates a couple heartwrending (in a fantastic, hopeful way) that Hakkai has healed enough from the death of his wife to start looking towards a future (that is matriarchle and adorable) and the Gojyo, as well, wants something more than the life of a gambling man.
Also, the subtext just screams Hakkai x Yaone at me. Like, so fucking loudly.
~~~

He watched the line of her neck as she chopped strawberries, the juice staining her fingers, the faint swishing sound the knife made against the cutting board too-loud in the polite, tense silence that had grown between them - the proper thing to do would be to inquire if he could be of assistance, but their typical courtesies had been failing them, and Hakkai... he wasn't going to lose her.

He refused to.

He stepped behind her. She tensed, and where before he would have respected the that line - an breath inhaled to quickly more impassable than a snowcapped mountain - today, he put his hand on his hips, tucked his head into the curve of her shoulder and hoped she heard the I'm sorry in the quick press of his lips to the nape of her neck.

When she leaned back against him, tension draining from her body, it felt as blissful as the first time she'd taken him into her arms.

:::beams::: Beautifully done! :D
