The Bourne Legacy:

Option A: the further adventures of Marta and Aaron. Option B: I realized that it's highly probably that Aaron does not have a ton of experience with ~teh ladies~ and I want a fic where Marta is like, 'these looks I'm giving you? Those are eye fucks. As in, take me now.' And Aaron is like, 'I am ALL for that.... but I could use some directions here. Like, very, very specific directions. Did I mention I'm good at following orders, sometimes?' And Marta's like, 'I can work with this. Oh, how I can work with this.' And there can be bonus digs at her ex.

I find that I really enjoy Marta and Aaron together without my usual need to get them into sexual situations. They have a wealth of emotional and intellectual fodder for my fanfiction canon...LOL...I like the UST with these two but that doesn't mean that I won't give in and write RST.

My thoughts on Aaron as Kenneth Kitson: The idea that he was not the sharpest knife in the drawer and actually feared falling from the heights to which he had asended makes him a great character. He wants to belong to something and his need for those two things leads him to a place where he is getting pep-talks from amoral
extremists. He was literally trappped in his life but by the end of the Legacy he had found freedom. There is a lot he will forgive, but if they continue to knock on his door he will answer and when he does it will bring the house down.

Marta is a different story but still the same. She is highly intellectual and she literally can't handle real life outside the lab. She wants a life...You can see that by the grand sweeping moneypit of a house she lives in, but she is neck deep in the science and she cannot relate to others in her daily life if they are not in her assigned roles.

The fact that she really never got curious about Aaron Cross' name and thought of them each as a number tells you that she was closed off...Only after the were out of the lab did she even ask his name.

These two are great characters because neither of them were working for the government for altruistic reasons. They are both partially to blame for the spot they find themselves in but they also have an innocence that gives them depth.

It does! Because that is such a visceral and personal motivation - it's really easy to sympathize with that.
