Nikolai Series - Leigh Bardugo

I absolutely adore the section of King of Scars when Nikolai is getting chained up every night by Zoya and everyone thinks that she's his mistress.

I would love anything set during that time (an AU where that's when they get together), Zoya deciding to lean into the mistress rumors and just start sleeping in Nikolai's bedroom, etc. Maybe they end up having sex while Nikolai is chained down...

Also, one of the elements of the show I loved was how annoyed Escalus was when it was clear that Rosaline no longer trusted him. I think he expected her to marry Benvolio and then be his mistress and it became clear that wasn't going to happen.

I found their relationship a lot of fun. I liked that Nyneave is clearly very smart and has a lot of experience... except with feelings (especially her own). 

Also it was not lost on me that if Lan was ever restored... and married Nynaeve.... she would be a princess. Which I think Nynaeve would scoff at and then be really good at.

Charlie's Angels

I really love Sabina/Jane. Them getting together, them as an established couple going on missions, a lazy day off – whatever you like.

That said? Sabina smacking her own ass with that crop? Made me REALLY want a Jane/Sabina fic where Jane spanks/uses a crop on Sabina.

I am one of those people who loves smut in my fics. If you are every on the fence about a sex scene, my answer is always yes.

I finished my re-read of the Darkangel Trilogy, the ending of which was even more unrelentingly tragic as I remember. I want everyone to read these books so we can fangirl over the prose and them weep at the tragedy of Aeriel/Irrylath.



I'm about ready to try to find fix-it fanfic, but I'm scared. So scared. I googled the pairing name and the first result was a fanfic on ff.net. Someone hold me. Someone stop me. My shadow burned away and I am made of moondust and grief and duty.

Oh my god, you guys.

I think the Hawkeye comic got accepted as a fandom... but nobody nominated Clint Barton.

Just submitted my Yuletide noms - Kate Daniels-verse, Code Name Verity (because I want Maddie fic and couldn't figure out how to nominate both Code Name Verity and Rose Under Fire at once), the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and Batgirl.

I really wish that I could tell beforehand if my own interest and/or the largesse of fandom is going to make a pairing-specific tag needed.

Also, I've been thinking about Yuletide, about I desperately in my heart-of-heart want, versus the fics I want less but which would be more likely to be decently written. Every year, my strategy gets more and more complex.

Until today, I believed that Gillian Welch was a singer-songwriter who lived and worked during the Great Depression. And I say that as someone who at one point was listening to an interview with her. Trying to figure out if she was still alive, how the interview was in such good quality, etc. Slow on the uptake, party of one.

On a completely different note, please tell me that I am not the only person who has not even started (and does not even know) what to write for Yuletide.

On a more related note, I was wandering through Dear Author letters to try and get the inspirational juices flowing and I noticed something that really delighted me: a LARGE percentage of letters said something to the effect of, 'I love the ladies; so anything with them being awesome would be awesome / no hating on girls, plz.' IT WAS AWESOME. I don't know if there is a shift going on in fandom (unlikely), if Yuletide is largely comprised of people who love female characters, or if the fandom I was investigating are fandoms you're less likely to be interested in if you don't like awesome ladies BUT IT MADE ME SMILE.

I really, really thought that I was going to be one of those obnoxious people who finished their Yuletide in the first week after assignments went out. Yeah..... that didn't happen. The good news is that I'm finished with it now and pretty pleased with what I wrote. Now it's just hanging around waiting until AO3 will let me upload it.

On the subject of the holidays, I was really surprised this year at how many shows did a Christmas episode. Warehouse 13 (which I don't watch regularly but watched this one with my mom), Glee (which I stopped watching right before the Christmas episode), Community (WHOSE CHRISTMAS EPISODE I WILL BE WATCHING EVERY DECEMBER 24TH FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER), and Leverage (whose x-mas episode I watched last night).

And frankly, really disliked.
