Reasons why I've never felt the need to get into Merlin.
Also completely off topic but Red Red Red! I just rewatched Thor and I need Sif/Loki recs--can you point me anywhere awesome? Here (http://archiveofourown.org/works/539065) is a rec in return. It is a short and hilarious Darcy/Sif fic told in perfect Darcy POV.
Also I finally read that Darcy/Steve fic you recced and it was completely and indescribably awesome. I recced it to my Cap-loving friend and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well.
YES. I mean, I know Morganna brainwashed Gwen but I so badly wanted them to team up and show Arthur that his way of doing things SUCKS so everyone could get some decent character development and learn lessons about the evils of racism and sexism. I guess that was too much to hope for in a series that seems to hate minorities and women. *grumbles* Whatever, when this series is over I'm writing fanfiction where Morganna comes back to life and overthrows Camelot and all her magical minions kick ass. *nods*
Also, the slash baiting. Ugh. If they want to please their fandom so badly, why not just have Merlin and Arthur hook up so Gwen could make out with Lancelot? I don't care about Arthur and Merlin anymore, but at least with Lancelot Gwen didn't have to compete with all of Arthur's bros.
Because they wanted me to stop watching in early season 4. I think they personally don't like me. They drove me away with misogynistic plot points and really corny dialogue.
WHICH IS KIND OF AMAZING BECAUSE I STILL WATCH THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, WHERE WOMEN ARE RAPED AND KILLED BY Stephan/Damon/Klaus men every episode.
I liked Merlin for all that it could have been, but it never rose about the 8-11 year old demographic for all the seasons that I watched it. It's a bit shocking how bad the writing is sometimes, when I'm used to British TV doing unusually well for strong characters and emotional plotlines.
And I still can't believe this PG-rated "don't allude to sex ever never ever" show came from the same network as Being Human, that program with little kids finding vampire porn and scenes with people's teeth getting knocked out.

Sounds reasonable.

I know, right? I'm used to British TV setting the bar SO HIGH and this show was just... so low.
