I want to write a Darcy/Steve fic for my 'romance' homebrewbingo square and I need some guidence from my big-city peeps.
When the girl you are having sex with is catching the subway very late at night back to her apartment, what is the standard etiquette? Do you want her to the platform? Wait for the train with her? I'm imagining that Steve would wait and see her onto the train, checking that Darcy has her taser and her cell - maybe request that she call him to make sure she's back safe?
Basically, I want to walk the line between Steve being Steve, with his 1940's manners but also respecting that Darcy can take care of herself and make her own choices about her safety.
Thoughts?

One of the reasons I asked is that I originally envisioned Steve just flat out insisting on walking her all the way to her apartment door and then I realized that that come off not a concerned and gentlemany, but as a controlling ass. Which Steve is not.
Waiting to see her on the train, on the other hand, shows both reasonable concern for her safety AND as you mentioned, gives the impression that more time with Darcy is always good.

I think Steve would definitely make sure he was with her at least that far. Like, I feel like he'd want to go further, because he's seen some bad stuff and he knows what it looks like when people get hurt, but he'd pull back and reassure himself that she'll be okay. It's not Steve if he isn't worried.
I don't see Darcy being with many other guys who were that considerate though, so that's another element to it.

Oh, totally agreed. Like, I think it would super unusual for to have someone paying that close attention to her safety.
