Oh, wow, that is a really fascinating video. There's so much imagery being subverted and reappropriated, I don't know where to start.

I don't know about, like, fan meta, if that's what you mean, but it looks like there's a fair amount of music industry commentary/criticism of it. Wikipedia summarizes some of the stuff on the music video (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_Girls_(M.I.A._song)#Music_video), and presumably you can get to the longer articles through links in the citations.

I think the video was filmed in Morocco and many have said that the video is subversive because countries such as Saudi Arabia don't allow women to drive, so having badass hijabis hold a drag race is pretty cool.

Yep! Realizing that this was filmed explicitly in solidarity with the women in Saudi Arabia who aren't legally allowed to drive make it 100% better.

Yeah. I had to look it up b/c I mean srsly. Apparently they had to slow the film down b/c you have to be going like 70+ mph or something to do those stunts. It's unbelievable.
