So, I basically laughed the entire way through the trailer for the new Fast and Furious movie, which has Michelle Rodriguez in it? And I've hear rumors that she's one half of a badass couple?

Is this truth or is this fantasy?

Are some of the Fast & Furious movies worth watching?

Discuss.

I've seen 1 and 3, and I hear tell that 5 is pretty good.

They're absolutely popcorn cheeseball ridic movies, all macho cars and guns, and ladies in tight clothes.

I think that actress was in the first movie, but not the third? So I don't know what ship she's part of.

I have a general likable feeling toward the franchise. Each of the movies make a point to create insane, creative, positively unbelievable elaborate car stunts, often involving anywhere from three to five hundred cars, usually performed at the climax as part of a complex hiest or ruse or rescue mission or something. They're fun to watch like a circus is fun to watch: bright colors and whoopsie-daisey-there-goes-another-car!

'Like a circus' sounds like a good way to describe them. And that's kind of their appeal for me?

Truthfully I ended up watching all of the movies after reading this article (http://www.boston.com/ae/movies/articles/2011/04/24/fast_forward/) last year. They are just fun and not to be taken seriously at all. That isn't to say some parts of them aren't problematic but I don't remember anything that was rage inducing?

Her and Vin Diesel were such a badass couple. And she's supposed to be in this new one as a surprise twist. I like her. :)

I have a friend who is a fan of the franchise, so she sneaks them into the line up when we're watching movies at her house.

I think you could only call them okay if you like cars and mindless (re: plotless) action movies. Or if you're a fan of the actors.

I have this weird love of cars.. They just look awesome. I watch these movies when I'm drunk and feel like watching something incredibly mind-numbing. If you're not paying much attention and just along for the intriguingly awesome cars and nice action that isn't incredibly special-effect generated (they've got some awesome stunties, let me tell you).

Michelle Rodrigeuz plays Lettie. In the first movie, she's Dominic Toretto's girlfriend-thing, and pretty bad ass. She doesn't appear in the second one (which features Brian and his friend Roman), the third one (which takes place after all the rest of them, I believe? "Tokyo Drift"), or the fourth (which I don't remember at all) or fifth (which is surprisingly good, for how late in the series it is, normally movies royally suck by this point). Supposedly, "she's dead." That's what we learned from the previous movies. Personally, my favorites go in this order: 1, 5, 2, 4, 3 (I really hated Tokyo Drift...)

I watch them for cute men, incredibly stunts, a nice plot twist (they normally come up with some INSANE way that doesn't even seem possible to make things work out in their favor), and amazingly beautiful cars.

Taragel's totally shallow reasons for paying to see this in theatres:

1) I love Michelle so I will totally pony up the bucks for her.
2) And for Gina Carano, who is a LEGIT. BAD. ASS.
3) I think the stunts will be awesome and maybe they'll inspire me on my stuntwoman novel front
4) Will always support Vin Diesel for casting my boo Katee in her first major movie role as a completely awesome HBIC in the upcoming Riddick.
5) Plus I find his facebook delightfully cheesetastic and sorta charmingly earnest about being gracious to his fans
6) Paul Walker: Still quite hot (despite having all the personality of plankton)
7) The Rock just makes me grin. *shrug*

That sounds like a list of great reasons to me!
