Blood Of The Covenant Is Thicker Than The Water Of The Womb
I'm two-thirds of the way through Steph's Batgirl run, and there are some thoughts:
-Stephanie slapping Bruce was just as perfect in its entirety as in summary.
-Bruce is a total dick re: Steph and Wendy. Seriously, he has all this fucking proof that blood doesn't tell (trust me, if Steph was going to go evil, she'd fucking have gone evil already).
-Detective Gage and Batgirl are ADORABLE together. Ugh, the one-liners! The back and forth! The commish teasing Gage about Batgirl maybe/maybe not being legal!
-I am not sure how accurate Tim's characterization is in this run (I've heard his various wildly depending on the writer) and while Tim and Steph had some cute moments, I cannot stand dudes who tell ladies, to get thee to the sidelines. Pretty much ever. HUGH narrative turn-off for me.
-Steph, you keep saying that you were in the superhero biz because of a.) a boy or b.) because you were manipulated into it. I don't think attempting to ruin your criminal father's plans counts as 'because of a boy' you know?
-In that vein, I really enjoyed Steph's conversations with Damian.
