Yuletide is brewing on the horizon and I'm actually currently at a bit of a loss for what I want to request/offer (especially offer, actually).

I know I'm going to request Anastasia fic, set during WWII.

Fingers crossed that Batgirl ends up being eligible, and isn't disqualified because of its relationship with Batman.

Captain Marvel and Young Avengers are probably safe bets.

I feel like I should have a least one tv show or movie that I'd be interested in reading or writing about, but I don't know that I do.

Your thoughts, flist?

I gotta say, at 2:30am I totally read:
Fingers crossed that Batgirl ends up being eligible

as

Fingers crossed that Batgirl ends up being edible.
/sigh

How about something related to Arrow? Felicity in particular?

Hmm, are crossovers eligible? I'm thinking Avengers/Arrow...

:D

I'd eat her (out).

...maybe? My problem is that I still haven't finished the first season and I don't want to commit to watching the first run of episodes of the second.

And now you know where my mind was going where I misread that XD

I was justttt thinking about this.....ever watch the episode of '21 Jumpstreet' where the team is sitting around playing cards with one card stuck to their foreheads? That entire episode was just them in a room reminiscing. Maybe somthing like this might help bypass the need to watch any specific episodes?

Then again, I am totally biased by my love for the Felicity-Oliver-Diggle in the hideout with all the tech and weapon equipment scenes. They so need an episode with just the three of them in that one room XD

I do.

Some of the best scenes happened in that room.

Heyyyyy, how about Batgirl + Felicity crossover? XD

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2013-09-02 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
To be honest, I am not a big cross-over fan, usually. I rarely read them and I pretty much NEVER write them.

I am nominating NORTH AND SOUTH, if it's allowed.

And maybe a couple of books, like THE SCORPIO RACES? I haven't decided yet.

Hmmmm, I wasn't thrilled with Shiver, but The Scorpio Races does look interesting.

I liked SHIVER the best of that trilogy, but THE SCORPIO RACES was really good, and for a book that is mostly about boys and their feelings, I am also really, really liking THE RAVEN BOYS cycle.

Three of my requests are locked in (Psy-Changeling, Nashville, and Madeleine L'Engle), but I'm not sure on the fourth. I don't think Arrow is going to be eligible, so that's probably out. Maybe the Pink Carnation books by Lauren Willig. We'll see. Depends on how their rules for nominations shake out, I guess.

So this is a weird/noob question but...how does Yuletide work? Where do I go to see challenge dates?

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Basically, it's a holiday exchange where you offer to write three different fandoms (with characters you're willing to write) and are emailed a prompt that will match at least one of those fandoms. You also request three different fandoms (with characters you'd like to see).

It's a huge exchange and only small* fandoms are eligible.

*what exactly denotes a small fandom is a matter of much debate.
