Several people asked for further context for bullet point 3, so here is some Stephanie Brown/Damian Wayne not!fic:
I was reading a lot (by which I mean, the three worth-reading) Damian Wayne/Stephanie Brown fanfics when tumblr talking about what an awesome trope ‘fake married/fake dating is’ and what an epic trope it is when someone basically moves in with another person without realizing it, and I was like, ‘those tropes are awesome! ..and would work terribly for Damian/Steph.’
Inadvertent moving in is out because, frankly, Stephanie SHOULD, BY RIGHTS, have a suite at the Wayne mansion LONG before she and Damian get together. Like, it’s literally a mansion. And honestly, I can’t keep track of secret hideouts, but I totally think it's reasonable that Stephanie should have a place to crash and a change of clothes at the Wayne mansion.
And the reverse doesn’t work for me, because I feel like Damian would accidentally-on-purpose leave behind like, a tie or a glove at some point, for the excuse to show up at Stephanie’s place and she would but like, “GEEZE, DAMIAN, I LIVE IN A STUDIO APARTMENT OKAY? I don’t even have enough room for MY stuff. Don't leave your crap here. You leave something here, it’s likely you’ll never see it again.”
And here’s the thing with fake!dating: like, as much as I’d like to see Damian fail at believable PDA for the cameras but exceed expectations at “faking affection” in private, it’s really hard for me to think of a believable reason for Stephanie and Damian to fake!date. At least nominally, fake!dating should solve problems, and I can only figure that Stephanie and Damian dating would cause problems. They’d get SO much crap from the people they know (even if the people they know knew that they were fake!dating For Reasons), and the press would take so many pot-shots at Stephanie and frankly, the latter does not appeal to me, as the kind of story I'd be interested in writing.
Also, on the subject of Stephanie Brown, I get so fucking irritated with finding these beautiful, beautiful Dick/Jason/Tim/Damian fanarts. Like, I realize that Stephanie is not a pretty boy with dark hair, and I realize that people are tuning into 'the sons of Bruce Wayne' vibe, but seriously. STEPH WAS A ROBIN, OKAY?
