Chances are, she's always have those annoyingly platonic-ideal-of-breasts-breasts so kindly shut the fuck up about how she 'really had matured' or 'nicely filled out' or what the fuck ever.

Stop acting like only big busted girls are attractive, or that she 'should' have large breasts or whatever. Speaking from experience: a D-cup is not that fun. No, really it's not.

p.s. If she and Zuko were on a Fire Nation ship, traveling together, and he kept pulling her into corners to neck, this would not be a problem. And if she was angsting, it would be about macking on, you know, Zuko, not how 'hard it was to not go to far with him.' The problem is she's 14 or 15 or so, the age when is rather flaily about these sorts of things. Also, what kind of contraceptives do they have in Avatar? I know there's metal steamships, but we haven't exactly seen rubber. Unless one gets very creative with the workings of waterbending. Blood and sweat are manipulatable...

I want to say 'word' about the breasts, but...have we seen her mom? Ain't got a clue how much further those'll develop. It seems she's pretty comfortable with them though, since she's willing to swim in her underthings around boys. Of course, one's her brother, so he doesn't actually count as a boy, and one's Aang.

See, this is my personal experience talking, but at fifteen NONE of the people I grew up with, and especially me, didn't know which way their bodies were going to jump. No one I've know or talked to had one of those 'and then I suddenly got big boobs at eighteen or twenty!' you hear about. I'm sure it happens, but at 15 I think we have a pretty good idea of what her adult body is going to look like.

As for the sex... one, there's creative waterbending. Two, there's herbal contraceptive (not saying they're super-effective, but they're there). Third, and my main point: not having sex because she doesn't want to get pregnant: smart and I expect both Zuko and Katara to be mature enough to hold themselves back for those reasons. Katara not wanting to have sex for some indefinable, 'I just can't, because sex is wrong!' reasons? Dumb. They're in a war, people. They could die. If I was in a war, and I have someone who I liked a lot and found hot and that was reciprocated? I'd be in bed with them so fast... Who wants to die a virgin, after all?

Ah. Haven't been reading the fic, so not familiar with the reasons involved. "sex is wrong" is a ridiculous reason, you're right about that. Especially since Katara was all cool about delivering a baby.
Oh! Now that'd be a decent reason for Katara not to want to have intercourse- they're working to end the war, and she's stated that she believes it's possible. Even with herbal contrceptives or creative bending, pregnancy is still a chance- betcha she doesn't want to bring her own sproggets into their world until the war's finished. For sure she'd hate the thought of being slowed down, since she's so battle-oriented.

*grin* Of course, this still leaves the teens the option of handjobs.

I sincerely hope this is not the case for me. But my growth is fairly back-asswards I'm pretty sure.

And the war is a good reason, as is pregnancy. There are a LOT of good reasons to NOT have sex (I think there were more good reasons to HAVE it, but that's just me.)

I just wish more writers would actually take the time to give a decent reason (of which, 'I'm just not ready or I'm not sure is') instead of just throwing out 'we can't' and then leaving it like that.

I was actually reading a fic where Z/K weren't having sex because of the pregnancy issue, and I am SO tempted to comment with a list of all the other things they could do, because I was reading this and going, 'yeah, but why are the stopping at PG kissing?' Seriously, there is a lot of ground to cover between kissing and penetration, you know?

*cue hysterical laughter* Well, I can say my much older relatives are mostly thinner, or at least relatively so, but my middley aged relatives are in general thicker. And my mum, when in highschool was thinner than I, because she was doing intensive dancing reguarly.

Humans don't reach maturity and cease to change. It may be slower, but bodies still shift. Currenyly, dance class and DDR are part of my attempt to shift to less flab, more muscle, or at least better stamina.

Heck, even the characters saying "we can't" and awkwardly stopping could work, if the story brings up how confused the characters feel about the whole thing.

Yeah, around middle age, metabolisms start to shift, making it harder to keep weight off and lose it. And then in your twenty/thirties it depends more - I know some people who lost could eat anything in highschool who couldn't after 20, and I know for me, puberty was really, really mean, but my twenties are looking better (in part because of gym and diet, but in a lot of ways it was just getting older.)

Yes, SOME reasoning would be nice. I think this one was just a bad author. I couldn't believe I made it through her first story, and then this happened on the first chapter of her sequel (that I couldn't believe I was reading, anyways) and then that was just the final straw.)

I know what you mean. =| Talking about ZOMG!breasts! what about Ty Lee? That girl's 15! She's got the world's most perfect boobs ever! They're like, huge and like...they fit her. A normal 15 year old with that size would look weird. And I don't like how she gets all the attention, basically cuz she has long, straight hair, and huge boobs.

Not that I dislike her, in fact, I'm quite a fan of Ty Lee. Just pointing that out.

Yeah, Ty Lee is one of the few ladies on this show that's developed. (And at 15, I would have looked a lot like Ty Lee had my waist been a bit tinier. But I had the large breasts and the long braid of brown hair down cold.)

Yeah, big boobies are more of a pain in the upper ass than anything else. ^_^

I actually saw a really good fanart of an older Toph, who was rather chesty, and she looks really strong and hot.

And I doubt that she's been getting big meals on a regular basis; travelling with the Avatar means road rations and the occasional feast where they stop somewhere that throws a big meal to celebrate the Avatar coming or what have you; certainly enough to survive, but not enough to build up extra fat stores (which, really, is what breasts are). This would have an impact on her cup size.

That is a very good point. And I highly doubt she was feasting when she was back at her village, with Sokka bringing in, presumably, all the meat for the village. Another reason to keep Katara slight.
