I'm redoing my tags on for what fucking better be the last time regarding anything relating to dc comics. I wanted to add character specific tags for Damian (#the boy king), Jason Todd (#would you kill without mercy and if you wouldn't then how precious is your love?), and Dick (#the last flying grayson).

And here's how my thoughts went:

You know, if Dick had a kid, he wouldn't be the last flying grayson anymore.

And then I thought, 'no way, he's never going to have a kid.' (I realize that Dick has a kid in an alternate dimension, my gut reaction was still, 'no kid.') (Partially because Barbara is paralyzed, and there are increased risks with a pregnancy, although it's by no means impossible.)

And then I started thinking about non-biological families (my jam) and went, 'would Damian count as Dick's son?' (I haven't read enough of their comics to answer that question.)

And then I thought about Dick being the best uncle/big brother ever and how he's probably going to die in a couple issues, and I guess my question is:

do you think within 5-10 years there is going to be a hostile takeover of DC comics by its fans?

Yes and I would love to be a part of this.

Dibs on Fables! The DC takeover includes Vertigo, right?

I have no problem with that. And lord know, SOMEONE needs to wrestle Fables away from Bill W.

My idea for how to handle the post-takeover transition: Since Sandman is, canonically, part of the DCverse(and meshes well with Fables), we can make It Was All Just A Dream into a universe-wide plot. Say, Daniel was fighting off some Big Bad, and as a result everyone had cracktastic, horrific dreams that seemed to last years. Maybe there's a crossover where he unites the dreamers to help take down the bad guy, maybe they just wake up and take a moment to realize that none of it happened. Couples wake up next to each other, parents go to check on their kids, Batwoman finds a message from the wedding planner confirming reservations on her answering machine . . . stuff like that. Casual conversation and appearances in the next few issues will confirm that dead characters are alive and stupider plot points never happened.
