Can You Help A Nice Heathen Girl Out?

So, my opinion on SG-1:

I enjoy it but I stalled out in the middle of the first season because it was so wildly uneven (imho). I'd watch one episode and it would be a great, sci-fi romp, and I'd watch the next and be ready to rip out my hair at the writing and 'aliens' etc.

Now, I know a lot of people have raved about the continuity of SG-1, and how the writers remember things that happened before, but I have to admit that I've never seemed to have a problem with comprehension when I just randomly tuned in to a later-season show.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it:

Rec me the good episodes of SG-1 - the funny ones, the dramatic ones, preferably the ones with strong Sam/Jack and the ones with Vala and Daniel. (Isn't Vala a hoot?
) That line killed me so dead. Now, if I could only remember which episode it was in....

Thanks.

Some People Walk Away From TV This Frustrating. I Hit Pause And Open TextEdit

(Okay, so this was actually typed up long, long ago, but I'm clearing out my backlog, so that's one reason it's being posted.)

Thoughts on Stargate Atlantis.

First: I'm amazed to discover that this show is actually NOT forty minutes containing two men macking on each other.

Secondly, while I was really enjoying the show, five episodes in I almost stopped watching.

Don't be shy now - does anyone else find Stargate: Atlantis' treatment of the Athosians violently problematic?
