I haven't had time to study for my pysch final, yet somehow I managed to know more than my graduate student TAs. Yes, I caught three wrong answers on their practice questions, one of which the TA couldn't answer correctly (but I knew the correct response).

*sigh*

I'm tired, ready for break, and right now I'm studying for pysch and it's taking forever to write my study notes.

And I still need to post my eval for my Art class and finish my essay for Mass Media. As well as going Christmas shopping, studying, return library books and visiting the gym tomorrow.

Additionally, none of my 1,621 songs in iTunes is getting me into the studying mode. *sigh*

So, of course, I'm taking a break and I notice something that piqued my curiosity (which I posted to[info]saiyuki):

"This maybe the most new-fan question ever, but why is Hakkai referred to so often as a swindler? I understand why so many icons and such play with the fact that he is/was a criminal, but I don't get all the flimflam man references. He seems the least likely of the main for characters to try and con people (unless we're talking emotionally....)

Anyway, the prevalence of this got to me, so while I can come up with my own wacky interpretations, I'd like to know what you guys think."

My sympathies. Ouch.

Maybe because Hakkai is really good at cards?

That's what the people at the Saiyuki com suggested. I don't know, somehow that just falls flat for me. I'm not quite sure why. The emotional aspects of being a confidence man- fooling people that you're happy and safe when you're not work better more me, but somehow I'm still dissatisfied. (Of course, that could just be my mood.)
