redbrunja: (One Does One's Best (Katara))

Awesome avatar vids:

The Earth Girls of Kyoshi - the best Suki tribute I have ever seen, with a perfect song; it's melancholy and martial and fits Suki to a T.

Anthem (Suki) - A significantly less awesome Suki tribute, mainly because of the screwy things the creator did to make the motion jerky. (I'm not ruling out that just being my computer being pissy, however.)

Troubles of The Warriors - (ensemble) Fantastic look at the fights, and uses the action + music choice to create a somber, wistful mood.

One Girl Revolution (the girls) Because, really, who isn't watching for the Ladies of Avatar? I love this song to bits, and seeing all the main femmes kicking ass to it just makes it better.

Just The Girl (Suki/Sokka) - one of the few vids I've found for this pairing that doesn't suck.

So, does anyone know how to delete/edit/ youtube playlists? Because I can't see any way to do so.

~~~
Does anyone else have a problem with vixy.net being really inconsistent? Because it never, ever works with livevideo.com, and it will only sporatically work with youtube.
~~~

So, in Avatar, does everyone remember this scene? The moment when we (by which I mean I) suddenly realize that there might be far more to Sokka than machismo and comedic relief? I would love an icon of that with the text 'The child-friendly version of a dominatrix' or something else mildly inappropiate. I would pay good money. And by 'good money' I mean internet cookies and/or a drabble.

~~~
Speaking of inappropiate, I just saw an icon of a woman giving this guy a blow job, and you know, I think that's a little too much smut for the average icon, imho.
~~~

I'm a serial monogamist when I comes to fandoms, and I'm always so sad when I leave one behind. Like, I feel so guilty for no writing any Hakkai/Yaone recently. I picture poor Yaone drumming her fingers someone, going, "wow, I could sure go for some Hakkai right now." and Hakkai with his head in his hand going, "all the het-girls have abandoned me (not that I can blame them). Now it's just me and Gojyo's cock."

Plus, I pity all the people who have me on their flist are aren't into Avatar. "Oh look," I imagine them saying when my lj name pops up. "Another post about that show I don't watch. Another fic for that fandom I don't care about. Remember when this lj was cool and had stuff about that show I cared about?"

~~~
But back to Avatar, I can't wait
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.
1.) Dilaudid - The Mountain Goats
2.) Mood Swing - Luscious Jackson
3.) Baby Blue - Little Birdy
4.) You Don't Own Me - Rasputina
5.) Herb Girls of Birkenau - Rasputina
6.) Country Feedback - Counting Crows
7.) Glass Ceiling - Metric
I'm not tagging anyone, but if you want to do this, I'd love to hear what you are listening to right now.
Both of these are from [community profile] fannish5:
Name five characters who would make good supervillains (actual current supervillains excluded).
Katara - In a slightly different situation, I could see her doing exactly what Sozin did - conquering the world for the "good" of the world.
L - The only reason he's a hero is that Kira is just so much worse.
Kyoua - he's practically already a supervillian.
Laura Roslin - "I don't make suggestions, Mr. Baltar. If I want to throw a baby out an airlock, I'd say so." Enough said.
V from V for Vendetta. Like L, he's a hero only because of who he's fighting. In a slightly different story, he would be who are heroes struggle against.
What are your five favorite redemption storylines?
1.) Zuko - Avatar
2.) Doyle - Angel
3.) Lust - FMA
4.) Snape - Harry Potter
5.) Wolf - the 10th Kingdom
I have a very nice late afternoon with [profile] lightprincess89. We wandered around town, and foolishly walked into two dens of seduction: the used book store, and Quimper Sound.
I walked out of the bookstore with a Robin McKinnley, an Alex Keva (creepy, creepy murder mysteries), and Borders of Infinity. Then since the record store was doing a 20% off sale, I helped off set the bad karma I get from downloading music by buying The Crane Wife and LP of Sweeney Todd with the original cast. (No, I actually don't have a turntable.)
All in all, a very fine evening, except that when I returned my mother had caught a horrible cold.
Everyone, please look feel free to oooohh and ahhhh over the fantastic icon that [profile] renegadekitsune made for me. Isn't it fabulous?
Also, on the subject of Avatar, I know everyone is flipping out over finding out that the finale is in July and all the spoilers that people have gotten at whatever convention there was.
Sans my cracking for the trailer for Boiling Rock, I want to be as pure as the driven virginal snow for this show, so please, please, please be good about cuttags and reaction posts. Also, if anyone else would like to join the 'Spoiler Free Avatar' support group with myself and kitsune, you're very welcome to.
Personally, I'm glad that this show isn't going to be over until July. I really, really like it, and am not ready for it to end. Honestly, I can't say I've particularly minded the delays, expect for this last between 'Firebending Masters' and 'Burning Rock' and that's mainly because I've been jerked around so much with the scheduling.
