Day 01 - A show that should have never been canceled
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching
Day 03 - Your favorite new show (aired this TV season)

Day 04 - Your favorite show ever

Space cowboys. Ensemble cast. A broad spectrum of character types and full of multiple ways to be badass. Written by Joss Whedon. Firefly is both good enough and I love it enough (two things that are not always mutually inclusive) that I feel justified in choosing it for this intimidatingly superlative question.

Comment on this post and I will name a lady in the realm of fiction. Give at least 5 reasons why she is awesome on your own journal and spread the love.

[livejournal.com profile] digthenym  asked me about Jessica Hamby of True Blood.

1.) She is the dangerous vampire in the vampire/human pairing.

2.) She may be dead, but she's still seventeen.

3.) She misuses and takes pleasure in her vampiric powers in an incredibly human, and as I mentioned, realistically juvenile way.

4.) She is a vampire who is exists between the 'good, vegetarian vamp/badass pyschopath' binary.

5.) She is fucking gorgeous and wears some of the prettiest sundresses (irony alert!) on the show.

Okay, so I watched this episode at 1:20 in the morning after a TERRIBLE day at work, so my reactions are completely emotional and very much lack analysis.

This is set around "Vincent & The Doctor" but is screamingly appropriate post-finale reading:

Gifting by [livejournal.com profile] saywheeeee , Doctor/Amy:

"He knows how to woo, this Doctor. He can taste the romance in the air of places like Troy and Arcadia, the breeze of Provence, and he knows, after months of her company, what tickles Amy’s fancy. In these moments, these lapses of judgment, when the guilt pours away and leaves him raw and alive, he forgets that Rory was ever anything more than an inconvenience, a loose end to be forever untied. He is very, very good at forgetting the adoration on Amy’s face as she kissed the man she had chosen over life, forgetting the boyish laughter and burning loyalty of the man who chose him as a friend. Fantastic Rory. Funny Rory, gorgeous Rory.

The Trojan gardens are an apology specifically for these moments, though he’s pretty sure Amy is starting to misunderstand."

So I changed my friend's page title to 'reading list' because I think the phrase 'friend' is kind of disingenuous in the sense that while I have some people on my flist who, though I have never met them, if they needed a ride to the hospital at midnight I'd drive across state lines to get them (or more likely call them a cab using my credit card) I also have people on my flist who don't even know I exist and on whose lj I have to remind myself not to comment on to avoid sounding like an idiot and I wish that there was a way to clearly demarcate them without sacrificing my stream-lined, lj reading list.

Now, I don't actually love this song on it's own, but I adore this music vid. The singer isn't super-sexualized (and yes, I know part of that's because she's part of Disney's stable), and instead of having the rather boring love story that could go with this song, the singer is instead being a badass European spy with her moped and totally coveted sunglasses/trench combo.
