The often repeated chorus of Train’s new song is, “These bruises make for better conversation, these bruises make for better conversation.”

And, you know, I am not opposed to a little violence in my music (Kiss With A Fist and Love The Way You Lie are both AWESOME and I pretty much accidentally have a playlist all about intimate partner violence of various tones) but Train’s mellow, dulcet duet makes me think the song is saying, ‘I hit you because you’re more interesting that way.’ And I know, FROM LOOKING UP THE OTHER LYRICS THAT YOU CAN BARELY HEAR that the song is *actually* about two HS friends and discussing their failed relationships, but that is not what it sounds like.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, while I am 100% behind the message of this song:

I kind it kind of ridiculously annoying. But REALLY LOVE the female vocals.

The last several days have been fucking endless. And yes, I've been working extra because one of my coworkers was sick, but seriously. ENDLESS. So, meme.

(Also, does anyone else feel like, when they're making posts or comments, they have to keep their gifs and their icons thematically or fandom-y consistent?)

This week is fucking fired. Seriously, I am so glad that I just have a shift tomorrow left and then I swear to god, I am going to spent Saturday curled up under the covers. And then go watch Man of Steel with awesome people.

Work had been endless and dull and my headspace has been totally grey.

In an attempt to cheer myself up, I've been thinking a lot about the friends-to-lovers trope and specifically, the tipping point moment, when the couple can no longer be (or pretend to be) "just friends."

So I'd love to hear people's friends-to-lovers recs! Or we could just chat about our

(For my part, I'd suggest everyone read Making It, based off Jenny Crusie's Faking It.)
