So, we're at 4 days and counting before I return to my alta mater and as my last fling with the wondrous creature that is free time, I'm meme-ing. Two meme's today (watch
redbrunja multitask!)
The 5 things meme: You post a theme or situation in the comments and I write five different ways it could have happened.
(Examples: "5 Times Inara Lost Her Temper" or "5 Arguments Between Klaus and Judy".) Then, in a separate post, I'll post the answers to all your 5-time ideas, according to me.
I've done this meme before, and it's fun (really, I promise, plus you can get people to re-write canon for you).
plus...
The Fandom Love Meme: Comment with the name/title of a fandom I'm aware of, no matter how obvious you think the answers will be, and I'll reply you with the relationships -canon or not - from it that I ship. I'll give favorite romantic relationships as well as favorite platonic ones. Also, you're free to reply in subthreads and ask me why I ship or don't ship something.
(My fandoms are Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, Dark Angel, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Harry Potter, Global Frequency, The 10th Kingdom, Fullmetal Alchemist, Girl Genius and Saiyuki. Also, possibly, Ouran Host Club. Plus anything else you think I might have seen or read.)
In other news, thank you
hireadd. Those Brian Kiteley exercises were just the kind of things I was looking for.
Also, lightprincess89, I ran across these Marie Antoinette icons and that I thought you might like.

Clancy x Bill (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2491189/1/) *cough*
Actually, I'm rather traditional with Harry Potter. Reading the books, I ship Ron/Hermione- I mean, after that scene post-Yule ball, how could you doubt it? However, fandom has worn down my passion a bit. I've heard good arguments for why R/Hr wouldn't work, and good arguments for why Harry/Hermoine would, so I could go either way on that one. However, textually, I think they're no doubt that R/Hr is what she's writing.
I'm also a fan of Tonks/Lupin- the moment she was introducted, I was like, oh, I wonder.... I think Lupin deserves some love, and while I never imagined him going for a younger woman I do think that she would bring a lot of love into his life. Their relationship, however, was very, very badly served by the Harry-filter in book 6. I really wish she hadn't written their relationship explicitly, because, frankly, Rowling sucks at writing romance.

I love Kaylee/Simon because they're so cute and sweet with each other, and I think that Kaylee especially inspires Simon to grow.
I love Mal/Inara because is the classic tale of two people who love each other but who's own issues and worldview (plus, I think, a dose of fear) prevents them from reaching out to each other.
Bonus fandom rant for you: no one I know writes either Mal/Inara or Kaylee/Simon. They just don't. They ship things like Mal/Kaylee, which is a relationship I love for it's blatent siblingness. I understand why they think Mal/Inara or Kaylee/Simon won't work, but it's really frustrating for someone who wants to read those things and doesn't have good authors writing them.

And yes, I love Kaylee/Simon. I'm working on a Kaylee/Simon post for
I like Mal/Inara and Zoe/Wash, too. I have a sliiiight thing for Jayne/Simon, only as a sort of "so not really there, but if one twisted things enough...it *could* work," but I much prefer Kaylee/Simon. Thing is, Whedon writes his canon relationships so well, how can you *not* ship them?

I'll have to check out that site.
I'm really not into slash (like really not into).
With Buffy and Angel I was more into alterna-ships than the some of the real ones (or I just would have prefered that he did them in a diffrent ways than he did.)
I have a soft spot for Mal/Inara especially because it's really hard to find people to write it well, and I really want to read their happy ending. Wash/Zoe is also really adorable- I'd love to find out how they became as totally in love as they are, especially considering Zoe's first reaction to Wash.

Dark Angel ships!

Plus, they had great banter and chemistry that could set the house on fire.
In altera-ships land, I do think Alec was in love with her for most of the second season, (but she didn't feel the same way) and given the scarity of good DA fic, I'll often read Alec/Max because it's all that's avalible.
