Will you elaborate on 'better than the book'? And don't worry I'm not going to give wank on your opinion, (like the crazy batshit shippers) I just want to know why.

For two reasons:

1.) Watchmen was really written to be a movie, imho. Just look at the first page, where you have square after square of the smiley face button slowly getting smaller. It's basically a movie story board, which means that reading it as a comic book, I was HORRIBLY frustrated by the waste of space and time. I found the panel layout horribly repetitive and boring.

2.) This is totally subjective, but I found the book really, really bleack and hard to continue reading, especially in the middle. Now, which the movie isn't CHEERIER by any means, I think it plays better over at two and a half hours instead of reading it over several days, as well as the awesome, awesome, awesome fight scenes giving a dark joy to the movie that is lacking in the book.

3.) (Another commenter said this, but it's totally true). The actors make it better. They NAILED all the roles, and for whatever reason, seeing them as walking, talking people made me relate SO much more to them.

4.) In the comic, the costumes are ugly as fuck. Especially Laurie's. In the movie, the costumes are classic and, in the case of Silk Spectre I, DELIGHTFULLY retro.

I hate the lettering of the book. My eyes hurt watching the squishy fonts
