Dear Glee Fandom,

Will/Emma is an awesome pairing.

What Will/Emma is not is all about Will healing Emma of her Mysobia.

WITH HIS MAGIC COCK.

HIS MAGICAL MYSOBIA-HEALING COCK.

Frankly, one of the things that attracted me to that pairing in the first place was that Will was one of the few people who DIDN'T treat Emma like she was deficient. He is either matter-of-fact about her neuroses or flirty/teasing. None of which equals 'fixing poor damaged Emma'.

Also, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that Emma has had other lovers before Will. There are these things called showers that people stand in and get clean, and also double as places for sexy fun times. The fact that she didn't want Tanaka to touch her probably has more to do with the fact that a.) she did not want to marry him b.) she was in love with someone else and c.) he's not the most cleanly individual by standard standards.

Annoyed,
me

p.s. Despite the rant, Glee fandom, you're doing okay with the Rachel/Puck. Keep up the good work with that one.

*digs* Where have you been looking? There seem to be a decent number out there.

It's a quality, not a quantity issue.

There was no Will/Emma on yuletide, and then I started checking out the glee newsletter... and read six Emma/Will fics in a row that where all about him fixing her or her mysobia being a huge issue.

Now I'm afraid to click on another W/E fic.

I feel so stupid, but...what, exactly, is mysobia?

Fear of germs.

Ah, the good old "germaphobes can't have normal sex lives (or if they do it means they're cured)!" trope. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Not to TMI, but as someone with severe OCD that often manifests as mysophobia: FUCK THAT. Yes, I have normal sexual relationships. (I don't even have to have sex in the shower! I can do it on a bed, like a normal person! Sure I have to wash each and every sheet/blanket/pillowcase that we touched the morning after, and sure this means that I refuse to engage in sexual contact while touching any surface that cannot be easily washed and disinfected - so no couch sex, sorry - but, uh, other than that? Totally normal!) And no, just because I have sex, doesn't mean that I'm cured.

I ever find some dude with a magical cock that heals mental illness, I'll let y'all know.

Oh God I didn't mean to TMI here but I totally just did.

Thank you so very much for this.

First, I'm thrilled you feel comfortable enough to share that, second, I LOVE knowing information about how different people have sex (it could be the writer in me, it could be the inner perv), and third, you're a person who has authority on this subject telling me I'm right.

God, I love the sound of TMI in the evening. ^_^

*nods*

While I wouldn't reduce Emma to just her fear of germs, I do think that putting Will in the roll of 'fixer' reduces the whole relationship to Emma, her germ, and Will's magic cock.

(I didn't get over my speech and language impairments because I was in a relationship!)

Exactly!

If I wasn't really in love with someone I wouldn't want to have sexual relations with them either.

For me it's more an issue of lust. You have a not that hygenic man... why would a germaphobe want to jump his bones?
