actually, just make that "my tiny obscure fandoms" in general, because I miss the days when I used to get annoyed that ATLA was eating up my flist. And I'm, like, craving fic right now.
I would say things like "politics" and such but honestly I don't keep up with the real world and am wary of only getting rants as my news source.
I do like talking about religion, but I've gotten worse about that too. Maybe I could use more practice.
I may sound rather shallow in my list of things, because it is not so much religion or politics, though I often find myself interested when they do come up, but they are also things that come up regularly in my life. There are books or TV series I'd love more people to be into and/or discussing, like Sharon Shinn's Samaria series, for instance, or Legend of the Seeker.I love hearing people talk about movies too- classic, or new, domestic or not. People all pick on different things and I enjoy reading about that. Strangely, though, I haven't seen too much of that for a few months.
Something I occasionally see, but would like to see more of, is writers talking about their process.
I'd love to hear discussion about religion that isn't Christianity. This is in part because whenever Christianity shows up to the party people start hating on it, and while I get quite a bit of the hate it gets tiring to remind people that the crazies don't make up the whole group. It is also depressing and hurtful to hear people slam one's beliefs with blanket statements and makes it feel like they're talking about you.
But I'd love to talk about Islam, because all I really know about them is that Muslims make awesome neighbors. And really beautiful architecture. I actually know a little more than this, but I love hearing about culture that stems from areas that practice Islam, and how their lives are different/more of the same to me.
I'd love to see a recommendations post for TV shows, books, manga, comics, anime, etc... because I'm trying to get back into some stuff (especially TV shows and anime), and I'm kinda overwhelmed right now.
Cool ways to be enviromently friendly would be fun, as well as the hunt to buy organic/responsibly on a budget. I want to help change the world but I still think of myself as a poor college student so it isn't always easy for me to do so.

I'd like to see more politics, civil rights, languages, and writing--both the writing itself and the writing process + publishing.
