Here are the answers to the meta meme I was going a couple days ago.

And, since I'm going to be washing windows tomorrow, if you have any fannish questions you'd like me to answer, feel free to ask, because I'd enjoy something to ponder while I scrub tomorrow.

For [info]doriche: Suppose you were in Sarah's place. Would you have accepted Jareth's offer to stay with him forever? Why or why not?

Absolutely not.

Sarah totally did the right thing. At the time, the invitation to stay in the Labyrinth was “I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.” Which, you know, was totally hot and all, but completely negates any chance of actually having an equal relationship with the Goblin King. If she (or I) had said yes, Jareth would have almost immediately lost interest, had power over her (or me) and turned the baby into a goblin in three minutes.

However, what I would have done differently is, at the end, I would have noticed the owl and opened the window.

For [info]renegadekitsune: If you were Yaone, who would you date? Hakkai or Gojyo?

Without question, Hakkai.

And I can answer this two ways, with what I think Yaone would do, and what I would do if I had the option of dating Hakkai or Gojyo. So I’ll answer both.

First, I think if all things were equal, Yaone would choose Hakkai. Frankly, those two are much, much more compatible in ways that make life much easier in the long term - they both are polite, neat, and have a similar sense of duty. So I think long-term, they’d live well together, and I think Yaone is smart enough to know that.

She’s look at Hakkai and see someone how is honest, understands her, would do anything to protect her (based on Kanan) and would have a much more approachable exterior than Gojyo does.

Part of this is my OTP talking - I find it intrinsically impossible to write a Hakkai and a Yaone who don’t care about each other, regardless of what else is going on.

Also, I find my Gojyo x Yaone (which, don’t get me wrong, I love love love them) is all about the situation - how does what is going on in their individual lives and/or emotional issues make them see this-and-such in the other person? while Hakkai and Yaone is all about the people - I think Yaone is Hakkai’s second chance with the closest think to indestructible he can get, and I think Hakkai is Yaone’s chance to be with someone who will put her first and go beyond the impossible to keep her safe. That their issues, (suicidal tendencies, belief in their worthlessness, Hakkai’s sense of himself as a monster, Yaone’s violent sense of duty and obligation) are real and valid just makes them more perfect for each other.

Additionally, if I were answering this question as me, I would add that I’m an elitist bitch, and an interesting conversationalist is very high on my list of necessary character traits, so with Gojyo I’d worry that after a while I’d get bored and/or irritated with him. And while I might get irritated with Hakkai from time to time (“Didn’t I warn that cleaning other people’s desk’s without permission will earn you retribution?” *takes out handcuffs*) long-term I think it will work.

However, that’s not to say that Gojyo couldn’t sweep either Yaone or me off our feet, because, I mean, it’s Sha Gojyo.

Yeah. The irony is I have a bad temper. I scream and shout and throw things, but I can't argue my way out of a paper bag. Therefore, I intensely dislike being drawn into debates or arguments or forced to defend my opinions and beliefs.

I think I could stand being ordered around for all of two seconds then tell him to get off his lazy ass and do it himself or it won't get done at all. =-P

Ah. I argue. Oh how I argue. There was a time I thought I might want to go into law because I loved to argue so much. (Which would have been bad because I hate paperwork and if I went into criminal law, which I would because I'd want to do something meaningful, I'd end up hating humanity so much.)

Yeah, one of my favorite panel is Saiyuki is when Hakkai slams down the coffe carafe when Sanzo asks for a refill.

LOL. My favorite Reload scene is Goku hitting him in the face with the pillow. ^_____^

Yep. That was awesome. And you totally know that anyone else would be so. dead.

Yerp. Gojyo would have been on ice in a second. I think Hakkai could have gotten away with it. Genjyo is a teensie bit afraid of him. ^_~

True. That's one of the best things about Hakkai - and part of what makes him so hot. However, if Hakkai lost control in that situation I bet he'd throw a punch, not a pillow - but still, I'd like to see that.

*nods* Hakkai does slap Genjyo right after Ukoku hurt Goku. Mostly because Genjyo was hysterical. (Now there's something you don't see every day, too.) I'm just waiting for Yaone or someone to slap him for being a dope. ^_~

You know what would be really funny is if Yaone boxes Kougaiji's ears for being such a blooming mook. That's something I've been itching to do myself. ^____^

Yeah. I loved that Hakkai did that and I loved the Sanzo needed it. Bit of a different situation, though. Yeah, I'd love the see Yaone slap him for being a dope. (write it, write it!)

Kougaiji... he really falls flat for me. I love his subordinates, but him? Not so much.

Argh. I am in the middle of an epic fic that's sort of hit a wall. My muse shows up only once in a blue moon. Inconsiderate bitch that she is. >_> I did write me slapping Genjyo once for picking a fight with Gojyo over me. =-P.

Oh hey. That does give me an idea for a later scene with Kougaiji. X-D

Glad to help.

*snort* that sounds highly entertaining.

It was. And it was damned hard to write, too. ^_~

Yeah. Sometimes that's the way it goes. The best stuff is usually either the stuff that's really hard to write, or the stuff that just flows so easily.
