Okay, Sunday night I planned to get to bed early. (People who know me well will already know where this is going.)

So I get working on some fanfic before bed, and end up staying up just a bit too late because I'm tantalizingly close to finishing a piece I started in April.

Then, as I try to go to sleep, it turns out there are some stupid french punks out in the street rapping. No, I'm totally serious. They were recording themselves and everything. And did I mention loud? I had earplugs in and headphones on and I could still hear them. Needless to say, I didn't get to sleep.

Then, I decide to make hay while the sun shines, or it's midnight, and watch Alias, thereby both killing time until the dumbasses outside shut up, and thinking that if I get significantly less sleep than I need, it will be easier to get up in the morning. (Usually this works - I can tell home much sleep I didn't get based on how easy it is to wake up in the morning.) This morning, however, it didn't work and I ended up turning off my alarm clock with waking up at all.

If my roommate hadn't asked me when I was planning on getting up, I would have been late to class.

Her: "What time are you planning on getting up?"

Me: "Seven?"

Clock: 8:10 am

Then my hair refused to co-operate and I was utterly unable to put it up in a ponytail, because that's the kind of morning I was having.

Then I had the smallest peice of bread and a bit of milk for breakfast. And then as I'm rushing out the door, my roommate opens up the fridge and is getting out these little pastry rolls she got.

"Do you want one? They're fattening, and I know if I have them here I'll eat them. Here, have two!"

Me: "...Thanks..."

And then I spent the morning denuding my nails, because I don't bite them like a normal person when I'm bored, I pick at them with my other nails.

*huggles* This is proving to be a shitty start for us all. Hopefully your day has gotten a little better... Or your Tuesday has started better, depending on when you read this. :D
Monday, September 17th, 2007 07:57 pm (UTC)
My day did get better. How did yours go?
Monday, September 17th, 2007 09:49 pm (UTC)
Mine got better as well. It's official that the asshat is no longer in charge of displays (though he was sticking his nose in what Dawn and I were doing today....ya didn't care when you WERE in charge asshole, why do you care now?)

But all in all, it did get better as well. :D
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 08:23 pm (UTC)
*snort*

That sounds so like him.
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 12:36 am (UTC)
Yeah. He pisses me off. After more or less telling me that my job is pointless (not in so many words, but it was VERY obvious that's what he meant), I don't have much respect for him. I never really did before because he didn't for me, but at least now I know *why* he doesn't. He doesn't understand why Trader Joe's wastes time on artists and hand made signs and the like, or why we have a demo. He sees it all as wastes.

Nice, huh? I love the fact that we have someone in a management position who doesn't support the company standards. It's not like we're the only Trader Joe's with artists/demo. That's freaking standard.

Asshat.

I'm done ranting now.
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 01:25 pm (UTC)
Why is this guy not fired?

I've never been to a Trader Joes, but I just think it's awesome that they care so much about atmosphere and making their stores look better than the competition.

He should not be working there.
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007 01:36 pm (UTC)
Oh, believe me, I agree whole heartedly. Someone who can't support the vision of the company should NOT be a manager in the very least.

I'll take you to ours when you come down. :D
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 01:07 pm (UTC)
Please do. I hear you can get awesome French limonde there, a drink I have yet to see in Paris.
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 01:21 pm (UTC)
LMAO. Yes, we have good French Lemonade. In several different flavors.

And that's really funny....in an ironic sort of way. XD
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 01:28 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I ordered limonade the first night here, but it got lost in the shuffle and I didn't ask again, and since then I haven't seen it.

And yeah, it is funny.
Wednesday, September 26th, 2007 01:39 pm (UTC)
Well, if I could ship you a bottle, I would. XD
Thursday, September 27th, 2007 01:27 pm (UTC)
Speaking of sending things, I got your card. Thank you SO, SOOOOOOO much. I love the little chibi ikkou, and ninja-Gojyo, and Hakkai doing his Hazel is still breathing smile. I posted it up right next to my bed.

Have your postcards come?
Thursday, September 27th, 2007 10:42 pm (UTC)
Yep. They came today. :D I'm glad the card got there...I was starting to get worried, especially since I wouldn't be able to easily replace (if at all) the chibi-ikkou card. :D
Friday, September 28th, 2007 04:39 pm (UTC)
Yeah... Did I tell you someone actually opened it first by mistake?

Oh, and THANKS FOR RUBBING IT UN ABOUT THE NOVEL THAT ISN4T DOING MUCH RECENTLY, I'M REALLY FEELING THE LOVE.
Friday, September 28th, 2007 10:26 pm (UTC)
Eh....no. Is there another Nikole? Or just an asshat?

*snort* To be honest, when I picked out your birthday card, it was a toss-up between the one you got and the novel one. (Which, ironically, at the time I didn't know you were working on an original piece.) So of course, later, I had to go back for the novel one, more on principle that I figured you'd be having too much fun in Paris to find time to write much at all, fic or otherwise.

Ya know I love ya hon. :D You know I would expect no less in the poking and prodding department from you, right? XD
Monday, October 1st, 2007 04:22 pm (UTC)
I think it was someone who just didn't look when they grabbed the at the letters in the 'last name b' section.

There are a lot of oblivious people like that here.

Love you too. Oh, last night I was walking around with my cell and missed a call from my mom (and my cell was in my back pocket set to both ring and vibrate) and when I finally connected with her, I mentioned that if I can't tell if my ass is ringing, the vibrater is clearly not strong enough.

She cracked up and said I really need a boyfriend, and I'm like, 'I don't need a french boyfriend. This is pzb's fault - she's trained me to say the stuff I used to just think.'
Monday, October 1st, 2007 10:26 pm (UTC)
Oy...well, I'm glad the card wasn't something ultra smutty...that might have been embarrassing... XD

LMAO - oh suuuure...blame it on me. XD Believe me when I say I'm much more open about just saying things that I used to be, but I'm still quite reserved with people I don't know well (mostly because of instances like the 'border planets' comment last week....)

But yes, I must agree...you need a stronger vibrator if you can't feel it. XD
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 12:32 pm (UTC)
Yeah... Course, that might balance out the everyone-thinks-I'm-a-frigid-prude-because-I-neither-drink-nor-have-dated-creepy-frenchmen thing.

And it was already in my pants! I mean, serious! (I actually had a dream about ineffective vibs a couple nights ago. And then effective one. Thank God, my dreams are... finally not sucking!)

(And you really need to finish Firefly, and watch the movie, if only because I am *dying* to give you a Kaylee quote but I don't want to spoil you.)
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 01:09 pm (UTC)
No, dear, you're not a frigid prude - you have taste. And class. If our roles were reversed, I'd have done the exact same thing as you.

*snort* Yes, indeed, it was in your pants. I had to reread that line a few times to get it (would have helped if I'd just kept on reading... XD) But yay for non-sucky dreams!!! :D

I did finish Firefly (in fact, lent the disks to a couple friends to try to suck them in as well - they watched the first episode last night.) I'm scared to watch the movie though.
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 03:48 pm (UTC)
Thank you. It's good to hear that from someone who's opinion I trust.

I'd watch Firefly, but watch it like filmed fanfic - it's good, and entertaining, but not what really happens. Also, make sure to watch the deleted scenes, because there is a whole Mal/Inara subplot that gets greatly reduced in the movie, and shouldn't have been.
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 10:24 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that's the mindset I plan on taking..I just having screwed up enough courage to go out and buy it (and we don't have anywhere to rent from right now.)
Friday, October 5th, 2007 02:25 pm (UTC)
Well, I can't wait to hear what you think. And you still haven't found a good place to rent movies? I feel your pain. My mother and I are still in mourning for our old video place.

Also, I saw Shrek 3 on the plan over, and thought it sucked. I was really disappointed. Your thoughts?
Saturday, October 6th, 2007 12:07 am (UTC)
Well, there's a Blockbuster and Hollywood video, neither of which are very big or well stocked.

(Which reminds me - they opened a Trader Joe's in Bellingham over the weekend. :D)

I...thought Shrek 3 was all right. I certainly prefer 2, but I have to say, I did love the scene with Snow White calling all the little woodland creatures, then siccing them on the guards. XD
Monday, October 8th, 2007 12:37 pm (UTC)
Yeah, me and my mother refuse to go to Hollywood video, in part because they're majorly responsible for our beloved video place going out of buisness. And that's awesome news for me! Orange chicken, limonade, and hawaiian chips, here I come.... in three months. I thought that Shrek 3 really lacked that 'upper' subtextual story for the adults, and I found it really probematic that Shrek got saddle with responsiblities that he didn't ask for and then got to shirk them - I found that very problematic. I would have liked it better if he would have been forced to become a good ruler/it would have turned out that he had a good but unorthadox approch to ruling, and Fiona would have been the one being worried about the baby.

And that section with the women was one of the few funny bits (imho). I like the scene of Fiona's mother making war paint with lipstick myself. ^_^

Hope things improve. Maybe you could play j-pop out the window at the rappers if they come back.

I do that to my nails too! Freaky.
Monday, September 17th, 2007 07:54 pm (UTC)
They did. Most of the day sucked, but then I went for a run and it started pouring (and I was really hoping it would rain) so that made my night better.

Yeah, I almost yelled at the rappers, expect there's something pathetic about not being able to call people out in their native tongue, and plus my roommate was asleep, and I didn't want to wake her up.

Really? I hear about people biting their nails, but I just seem to torture them. Glad to know I'm not alone in that.
Monday, September 17th, 2007 10:14 pm (UTC)
Aww. :(

That really blows... But hey, at least you didn't have to go deal with incredibly annoying people in your Chem class while you tried to figure out a really hard lab that your teacher didn't bother to explain.

Everyone's got their crap days. It'll get better. Besides, you get +20 Awesome just for putting up with it. X]
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 07:38 pm (UTC)
Oh, don't you love it when teachers don't realize that they need to actually, you know, teach? I love that.

And I'll take that +20, thanks muchly. Same to you.
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007 09:07 pm (UTC)
I *do.*

Yay! I get points! X]
