• The LA Times wrote an awesome article about the ladies of Justified. How is it that such a male-dominated show has such great women, actresses who love their characters so, AND has male writers/actor/producers being all like, 'oh our ladies? Yeah, they're awesome.' Graham Yost, you keep doing what you're doing - and teach Hollywood how to follow your lead.

•  I started watching Fringe again. I just finished up the first season and am starting on the second - and is it wrong that the person I really ship Olivia most with is Charlie?

NO IT IS NOT! I fucking LOVE CHARLIE FRANCIS. I get irrationally excited when it's alternate universe time because then there will be copious amounts of Charlie Francis. I nearly cried when we lost the original. T_T

Wasn't it? I read it to my mom so I could redact some of the spoilers and we both spent some time flailing over how awesome the ladies are.

You know, I ship a wide enough variety of pairings that really, the only two constants seem to be a.) awesome lady is involved and b.) the male character (because frankly, I usually ship het) thinks she's awesome, even if 'thinks she's awesome' manifests as 'treats her like the worthy opponent she is.'

Absolutely not! I love Charlie, too! :D When I first started watching Fringe, I didn't really like it at all. Now, I'm still watching, and we're in season 3 here (or we were before they decided to do a summer break again :-\) and now I'm wondering, why I didn't like it before. It's so good!!

As we just added each other, I don't really know anything about you, but I think you mentioned something in your other entries that you're a teacher? Did I read that right? Tell me more about it! :)

Oh, no, I'm not a teacher. (Although I was an English major, so everyone assumes that I was going to be a teacher - not in this lifetime, sweetcakes.) That post was hypothetical - a friend asked me what was one book I'd teach if I were teaching high school English.

The thing I really like about the article was that the ladies of Justified are all giving each other props. Yay! Sisterhood! Yay! My show!

I need to watch Fringe. I'm aware of storylines, and it seems like my cup of tea. When it started, I was still in X-Files burn out mode, so I didn't want another let's investigate the unexplainable while CONSPIRACY lurks in the background.

Delena, yum. I don't think there's anyone I don't ship Damon Salvatore with. Just thinking about him starts me into creepy giggling.

Though the actual miracle of Vampire Diaries to me is that Stefan and Elena are also great characters. Don't these people understand that good vampires are boring vampires? Also that a human girl with no powers should either no do anything or rush headlong into situations she can't handle with no plan at all?

With Fringe, I have a tendency to get really interested and then have my interest wane. I feel like if I just stick with it a little longer it will totally hook me (and I've always adored Agent Olivia Dunham.)

I do. I ship both Stefan/Elena, Elena/Damon, AND Stefan/Elena/Damon. I started out this show going 'you know, I may finally have a show where I ship the Good Girl/Good Vampire' and then Damon/Elena totally seduced me but Stefan/Elena were still awesome, so what was a girl to do? And in general I'm not a fan of threesomes, but I honestly think that S/E/D could work - and Damon at least is certainly game.
