As a side note, I have repeatedly had the morbid thought of, 'what if I died? And my mom went through my computer?' Because there are some of my fiction that I'm sure would be so comforting for her to read [because we both like fantasy action/adventure stuff with a side of romance, which is most of my original fiction is] but on the other, there is stuff I never, ever want her to see [the super-porny stuff]. Leaving aside the smutty pictures I've saved from tumblr and other places.

This is a HEART wrenching Tony/Pepper fic. It's Pepper-centric and it does a brilliant job of making her a ridiculously three-dimensional character, flaws and all. The stuff with both her and Tony's father issues is vivid and painful and perfect and the ending made me almost make a 'guh' noise out loud.

Now, let me talk about my favorite series of Clint/Natasha fanart ever. First, there was this adorable comic. Then the author illustrated her headcanon, implying additional stories with each image. AND THEN she did a companion piece. I am especially fond of the images for: and she likes the snow, but she loves the rain; she has this spot on the back of her neck she likes me to rub (SO MUCH LOVE FOR THAT IMAGE, OH MY GOD); he has this ridiculous habit of stopping for coffee everywhere we go (NATASHA HAVING FEELINGS, MY FAVORITE THING EVER); and but no matter how much pain he is in, he will always do what he can to take away mine.

Okay, so I've been reading a lot of Natasha Romanoff + other people fics and there is one persistent piece of fanon that makes me go, "Oh, honey, no." It's the idea that Natasha is someone how more scared than other BAMF and that it gets her and edge, or something? (And it's otherwise excellent writers working with this idea, but it just DOES NOT fly for me.) This is a woman who came out of the Red Room, okay? She knows what it's like to be unmade. She is likely LESS scared than other BAMFs.

Look, as far as I'm concern there are three things that Natasha is afraid of:

1.   The Hulk
2. Being unmade/brainwashed (and this is debatable).
3. FEELINGS.

That is it. End of list. Crazy alien invasion, guys with pliers, madman with an army of robot soldiers - none of that is going to get her pulse past the same level of a hard workout, okay?
