Here Comes The Smoulder
For the first time in months, I had a Saturday off.
A glorious, glorious evening to do nothing but relax and chat with my flist. Seriously, if you're in the mood to talk fandom, ask questions about shipping, share cute/sexy/funny/eye candy gifs, this is the post for you. (And I'm also going to be hanging close to the computer tomorrow as well, so if you're out having an amazingly fun Saturday night, come chat on Sunday. I'll still be in the mood to gab.)
Things that are going on in my life, to get the conversational ball rolling:
~I went and did this amazing self-defense seminar today. It was amazing and I am going to have some glorious bruises tomorrow. (Frankly, you can already see them.)
~I rewatched Tangled with my mom (she hadn't seen it yet). It was just as adorable as it was the first time and I think Flynn and Rapunzel make a fabulous couple.
~I may go get ice cream. In fact, I think I shall.
~I have been looking at upfront trailers for the upcoming fall season and frankly, I have only seen two that even look worth checking out:
This look funny but also distressingly close to what my life could be this fall.
No idea what this is about but I'm actually intrigued.
All the rest, frankly, look various flavors of boring.
~But that's okay, because in the next two months BURN NOTICE, HAVEN, AND TRUE BLOOD ARE RETURNING. Sing hallelujah.
~In fact, I'm so excited about the new season of TB, that I'm rereading Dead Until Dark. Which, frankly, I have a suspicion I can no longer recommend as a qualitatively good vampire story, even though I retain a lot of affection for it. Your thoughts, flist?

Oh, tangled. Thinking I'll have to buy that one, it was so charming. Also my brain automatically inserted Jensen from The Losers as Flynn the moment he made his castle comment hee.
Thank the gods there isn't a whole bunch of good shows coming next Fall. I'm super swamped as is. I could have done with a new sitcom, but people have been raving about Happy Endings so that could already be a done deal.
HAVEN AND TRUE BLOOD WOOO! Also hoping GoT will please me when I get home!

Same here! I'd delightful and it holds up really well.
I admit, I'm not too bothered by the chance to catch up on old shows this fall, but it's still kind of disappointing that nothing good is coming out.

I'm just relieved none of my darlings were canceled. The Good Wife was the last one I was worried about, but it's been confirmed for a third season \o/ So instead of weeping and wailing over The Sarah Connor Chronicles/Better Off Ted/Legend of the Seeker, I now get to just sit back and relax, knowing all I need to do is have an excellent Holiday and then my shows will all be waiting for me on the other side. Bliss.
...And I still don't know when they'll be airing s2 of Luther *shrugs*

You use the bottom of your foot. You can either scrap your heel down their shins, which hurts, or you could (and this is a move I really like) kick the side of their kick with your foot, which can break it, thus preventing them from chasing after you.
Admittedly, I've never been attacked either, so a lot of what I know is from controlled situations, but that's my two cents.

That is nice.

Tangled would be worth the money to buy to, I think. Though, I always wonder.... if Rapunzel's hair, once cut, never grows again....is her always going to have that short, choppy hair do. Not that it looks bad, but it just makes me wonder. Or can it still grow but not be magical? Hmmm.....

I'm pretty sure her hair doesn't regrow, so she'll have that adorable choppy haircut forever.

Ringer . . . maybe. I just worry it'll give me that disconcerting feeling I end up with when I encounter new canon with actors who have firmly been established in my head as other characters.

Falling Skies caught my attention because there's not a ton of sci-fi shows out there, but then when I saw the trailer it hit on a pet peeve of mine: Alien invasions where they start out with a coordinated and intelligent attack, but then when faced with a human they're all "RAWR! I will run at you naked and unarmored, showing all the attack strategy of a starving doberman!"

Omg, True Blood!!! I seriously can't wait for this any longer!!! And on the weekend, at the con, I bought a bottle of TruBlood and I decided to drink it in celebration at the season 4 premiere. *g*

And Burn Notice has NOT been canceled. It returns in July and they actually released a made-for-tv movie about Sam a couple weeks ago.
