Also, this leads into two things I've been pondering.

1. I've been reading a lot of fucking filthy (in the BEST way) fanfic smut, which has me going, 'you know, I really need to up my smutty game. Get more explicit. Don't shy away from the dirty talk. At the same time....
2. I was working on a fanfic where the fic's climax (that's what she didn't say) doesn't get past first base (there are characterization reasons for this) and writing the kissing was so. hard. How do you say, 'so there was tongue but not too much tongue' in a hot way? Seriously, never have I more strongly wished I could pull a hot boy from out of my closet to make out with for research purposes. I mean, I often wish I could pull a hot boy out of my closet but that's usually more directly related to my libido and less related to trying to be accurate when describing how much tongue was used.

Haha, I cannot be remotely objective about my own writing, especially if it involves anything remotely sexy. It's a terrible thing, but it's not false modesty, I assure you. I just cross my fingers and hope others like it.

That really, really sucks. I say because one of the ways that I 'test' fics is whether reading something, *I* find it enjoyable or not.

But yes, you make an excellent point. I mean, teenage them might be more into necking (I hope so, necking is fun), but especially five years later them, who have more of a FWB relationship? Yes. Things would probably escalate quickly.
