Per [livejournal.com profile] qualapec’s instructions, I started reading Avengers Assemble with issue 9, and loved it. I got to this scene:

and slapped my hand down on the desk as I laughed, scaring the hell out of my cat.

Am I supposed to sort of ship Hulk/Jess? Because I do.

Also, Adams peanut butter, Jess, really? (There is a joke about Jess’s taste and Clint Baron that you should be making right about now.)

I really like the set-up with the race and how inadvertently they keep making choices that make everything worse (the water, the crackers).

Carol is, as always, the best.

And I just love her face in the face in the bottom left panel:

I don't have much in detail to say about the Natasha backstory arc beyond LOVING IT.

That is EXACTLY the Natasha Romanov I am interested in - owning her life, her choices, and balancing her ledger as best she can.

Also, Clint failing at adulthood was brilliant. He didn't have groceries! He doesn't like checks!

And OF COURSE Clint has one of Natasha's markers. OF COURSE. I tell myself I don't ship comics-verse Clint/Natasha but I had a lot of feelings when I got to the last couple of pages of that comic.

Also, can someone please help me find a fic? It had Jess responding to Clint being a cheating dick by getting drunk (I distinctly remember tequila) and having sex with a totally awesome lady. I THOUGHT that she had hooked up with Carol but I read through all two pages of their ship-fic on A03 (ohmygod, such a hardship) and couldn’t find it.

Help.

I also read Spiderwoman Origins and can only express my feelings in gif form:

Domestic Hulk? The very idea is so implausible and ridiculous and wrong that it could only be hilarious.

It was pretty brilliant.
