Title: In The Blazing Offense
Fandom: Community
Pairing: Jeff/Annie
Rating: R
Author's Note: critique/constructive criticism is welcome. Based on the promp "in flagrante" from [livejournal.com profile] aj  (sex in the Lexus never gets old, does it?).
Summery: In which Jeff and Annie are antisocial during Shirely's second annual end-of-term-nondenominational-midwinter party.

5 Government Programs That Backfired Horrifically

Kittens Rescued By US Marines. (Yes, this is just as adorable as it sounds.)

Never Make Friends With People Who Have More Problems Than You, on disability, YA literature, and subtextual messages. If nothing else, read the summaries of the books in question. My favorite is: "A girl tries to help and understand her mom, a Holocaust survivor. But while the daughter is off losing your virginity, the mom has a psychotic flashback, murders the neighbor's child, and is shot by the cops." Suddenly Twilight... is still more terrible.

7 Terrifying Prehistoric Creatures (That Are Still Around Today). My favorite is the Goblin Shark. Yeah, you read that right.

So, I watched The Losers Sunday night and it was fabulous. Completely ridiculous in all the best ways. spoilers ) I especially loved Aisha. miss tough chick of the universe )I'm trying to get ahold of the comic series.

On the subject of comics, based on a recommendation from [livejournal.com profile] smillaraaq , I read the first volume of I.N.V.U. (yes, the title is terrible), which is addictive. First, it's been a long time since I've read any manga - I'd forgotten how enjoyable it is. Secondly, this volume passes the Bechel test with flying colors, and thirdly, the soap-opera-ness of it isn't restrained to the romance - we have two overlapping love triangles AS WELL AS storylines about a.) supporting yourself financially b.) career goals c.) family issues/gender fuckery which combines to make me want the next volume now now now. (It also really reminds me of The Vampire Diaries, and I'm not totally sure why.)

Also, on the subject of things I love, I'm rewatching Alias and hot damn, I had forgotten how pure and excellent and well-constructed the first episodes of the first season (I just finished "Parity") are. Also, Gina Torres ♥.
