Except this, which is another example of why it literally makes me see red when I hear girls say they aren't feminists. Like, what, you want to to be paid 3/4 or less of what a man is for the same amount of work while simultaneously spitting on everything you mother did to get you where you are now? Get the hell out of my gender. (And yes, I DO understand some of the stereotypes that are attached to the word 'feminist' but what it actually means is that you think men and women are equal, and disassociating yourself from that is a HUGE step backward, imho.)
On a happier note, check out the translation of the book Rue drops in episode 5 of Princess Tutu. (Translation is in the comments.) Now, I wibble a lot over Rue, but this just makes me wibble harder.
Also, this is totally a Fakir song:

The video is incredibly amusing. ^^; The song I've always associated with Fakir is "Mockingbird Song" by D.C. Simpson
Free Download on the artist's site: http://music.download.com/dcsimpson/3600-8575_32-101035171.html

(Not sure who the speaker would be. Duck?)
Also, EEE! Translated "Prince and the Raven" sentences! Yay, yay, awesome! Also, yes, that does make one feel even more empathy for Rue . . .

But I know exactly what you're saying. I really don't understand the women who honestly believe they're second-class.

It's like Ann Coulter. If I ever saw that demon-spawn, I'd tell her "if you think women should sit down and shut up, do everyone with a vagina a favor and sit down and shut up."
Argh bargh ranting in ur el jay.

there's a storm coming
1. Yes, this is a great song. It's on my list of character songs I associate with PT.
2. In my head, Fakir the writer grows up to pen popular works of fiction. The Last Unicorn? So totally Fakir. The Wizard of Oz? That was him too. Except, in an unwritten fanfic that is burned across the back of my eyelids, the story of Oz is real.
Without the weight of the Raven and the Prince's curse, Kinkan Town has been transformed into a booming economy of green glass and shining crystal, the center of art, music, dance, and beauty. But the higher the buildings rise, more love was drained from the inhabitants, so corruption might fester. Drosselmeyer is a Wizard now, fat and cackling in his tower. Mytho is a doll stuffed with straw, because when his body could not contain his spirit any longer he had to trade more than just his mind. In the face of slow-approaching doom Rue bleeds away her once-bottomless well of courage until she fears the very night she once commanded. And Fakir...
Fakir has lost his heart.
And it's all starting all over again. There are power lines in our bloodlines.
